  • How do you eyeball 4 oz of cheese ?

Ofcourse it would be easy to weigh it, but the scale I have is not digital, and its a bit old, so am not certain it would be accurate for such a small amount. How can I accurately measure cheese. The car counter measures cheese in tablespoons. Is 1 tablespoon eual 1 oz ?

Do you buy blocks of cheese?
If so you can (when you get it home) look at its weight and cut it into equal pieces that you will know the weight of.
Say you have bought a pound of cheese then dividing it into half and half again will leave you with 4 pieces each weighing 4 ounces.
you could then divide those 4 oz pieces into 4 each to have 16 x one oz pieces.

4oz cheese is the size of a deck of playing cards.

a deck of cards? Wow - thats a lot of cheese. BUt I guess Perry is right. 3.5 oz ia about 100 grams and thats cloes to a deck of cards.

What about in tablespoons or cubic inches? (Fitday measures cheeses in cubic inches)

          Thoughts?

for hard cheeses an inch cube is 1 ounce

table spoons are a volume measure and that one ounce is not the same as a scale weight one ounce measure. We Americans have very tricky measures.
