    Hi,

I'm no expert, but I know since we eat more protein most people don't need the supplement.

Here's a link that might help answer your question:

This the place for discussions & questions on the other half of Dr Atkins overall health plan (Vitamins, Nutrients & other Supplements). Atkins' Vita Nutrient Solution. Please note however that we do not provide medical advice.

I take One a Day Active energy enhancing multivitamin. It contains 9mg of Iron, but it helps me since I work out and run daily.

That depends on the person. The last time I tried Low carb, I got anemic. I have never been anemic in my life, and we checked out all of the other options. My Pathologist at work told me that it had to be diet. Guess most of my iron was coming from peas, beans, pasta and rice. I am not a real big red meat eater. I am taking vitamins this time.

it will depend on your body. Many women have trouble absorbing iron form meats and will still need iron in their vits if they are still having TOM
most fellows don't need iron in their vits and men's vits are usually iron free.

If you are concerned chack with your doctor. Too much iron in the body can lead to a very debilatating condition.

            Happy low carbing.

Lorna, one way to tell if you are likely to need iron in your supplements is to use www.fitday.com to enter all you eat including supplements and look at the 'Nutrition' report to see how your numbers match the recommended daily allowances (RDA).
You can enter your supplements as a 'custom food' so all the vitamins and minerals are added into the total along with your foods.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!
