Yay
I made it through my first day on induction!
I'm so excited... I know, it's only my first day but I feel like I can make it through with this WOE.
I haven't felt hungry at all today which is surprising... I had breakfast around 11:30am and typically I'd be craving food aroun 1 or 2pm but before I knew it, it was 4:00pm!! I've been drinking my water, I'm always good about that...
But I've been lurking the last few days and decided to post to introduce myself... you all seem like a great supportive group and I can't wait to get to know you all.
I'm 25 years old and I live in Clermont Florida (just west of Orlando). I've been married since 11/2003 but been with my husband since 1998. No children yet, but in the near future.
I'm a social worker with an Early Intervention program that deals with infants and toddlers through age 3 with developmental disabilities as well as delays. I LOVE my job and it's so rewarding; my husband is an Architect. Enough about that... I'm 6'0" tall and currently 232 lbs; and I wear a size 18. I would like to get to a size 12 and I would be happy and content with that. When I met my husband I was wearing a size 14 comfortably. I MISS THOSE DAYS!
I've tried many diets, ranging from Slimfast to Weight Watchers to LA Weightloss (and pretty much all they did was take my $$) WW worked but it was slow and very time consuming to count points. I may have lost 15lbs over 8 months or so with vigorous exercise (but then we went on our honeymoon which was a 10-day Cruise... and all you do on cruises is eat, lay in the sun, sometimes walk around the islands and eat some more). It all came back. My brother is getting married the end of July and I'm standing up as a bridesmaid so I'm hoping to shed some lbs before then... we'll see.
Well, now that I wrote a novel; It's great to be here!

Jayme

Having done Atkins before, with this being my 2nd time around, I knew what to expect in the initial induction phase and made sure to have plenty of cooked and shelled shrimp, hard boiled eggs, olives and cans of tuna on hand to help me get through/ The biggest thing I noticed was come 1 or 2pm I wasn't falling asleep at my lab bench like I used to when I was eating sandwiches (with bread and processed meat). I find it's also very easy to pass up the breakfast room at work and the 2 for 1 pastry sale at Au Bon Pain ( damn it smells so good) when my stomach is fully loaded. Same thing when I go out to eat. I load up on cheese (3oz) and olives ( mingling olives = yummmm) before I head out to avoid ordering appetizers that are undoubtedly loaded with crap.
