  • Why are my legs sore/tired?

I've been in ketosis for ~ 14 days now (via ketostix).

I've been loosing weight and everything seems fine (though I have some other questions for another thread).

One issue is that my legs get sore and tired easily. I have plenty of energy but its like I can't pick them up.

I've read some posts about pottassium and I'm taking 200mg a day in supplement form. I'm also getting plenty of water.

It usually happens later in the day.

Could it be that I should actually eat a few more grams of carbs?

You are taking potassium so that's good. You just need to take some calcium and magnesium and you're set!!

Just make sure they have no added iron or it could get dangerous.

Mine have been killing me at night too. I'm taking the carb smart so I'm hoping I'm getting enough K and Ca. It feels like i'm having growing pains in them like when I was a kid.

Drink more water and get some exercise.
Your body needs to adapt to lo-carbs.

You might try using salt substitutes. "No-salt" is a potassium salt rather than a sodium salt. The taste is a little funky but you can hide it in your food. Just a quarter teaspoon gives you way more K than most foods or supplements. Keeps the foot cramps away for sure....
