  • Mayo on induction?

I've seen a bunch of people mention mayo. I really want some deviled eggs!

All the mayo in the stores have lemon juice and some sugar (even though they list no carbs... gasp!).

Also.. the recipes posted here have lemon juice ...

Not sure what to make of this...

Well, I know that I've been using it and still losing. I also did the diet in the past and lost weight while still having mayo on occasion. I guess everyone is going to tell you to check the ingredients for sugar, which you mentioned it does have. I would guess they will also tell you that it's okay in moderation. Some people can eat foods that others can't on this diet!

Thanks for letting us both know. I use Kraft as well.

Oh, I forgot. No Miracle Whip. Only real mayo!

Yeah.. I'll try to add it in a week or so. In moderation of course. I want to try induction and be really strict. My last attempt was not too strict and I'm concerned that I have stalled.

We'll see. Will miss the mayo though..

              From page 128 in DANDR:

              Allowable Beverages
lemon juice or lime juice (note that each contains 2.8 grams carbohydrates per ounce); limit to two to three tablespoons
Also, I don't know if this is in the book, but sugar is ok if it's way down on the ingredient list. For example, a lot of salad dressings have sugar on the list, but it's way down, and there might only be 1 or 2 grams of carbs per serving. This is ok, unless you're super sensitive and need to cut it out because it affects you.
