Hi Everyone! I've been lurking the board for a little over a month now, I've read DANDR at least 5 or 6 times and I've been researching this for hours on end, and I feel I am ready to start my induction tommorow! I went to the grocery store tonight armed with a list of ONLY induction legal foods. And when I was cashing out, 1 thing really struck me: 1) I have never bought SO much food and paid so little!
A little about myself... I'm a 23 year old male living in a suberb of Toronto(Canada). Ever since I can remember I've had some weight that I was always unhappy about. I wouldn't call myself obese, but definitely overweight. Currently, I weigh 180 lbs and I'm 5'8". According to my doctor(which gave me his blessing on doing ATKINS by the way) a healthy weight for me would be anywhere between 145-155(unless I'm doing a lot of weight training of course).
Growing up all I ate was what my mother had cooked. She came to Canada from Eastern Europe in the 70's, so all the recipes she made were from back home. Bread was always a staple in every meal. It wouldn't be a meal without bread, and unfortunately that has kind of stayed with me. We were always drinking lots of pop and stuff, and as I got older, I switched from Pepsi to Diet Pepsi cause I thought it would make a difference. And while it did make a tiny difference, it seems that I kind of aquired a sort of dependancy to it. 2L in one day wouldn't be uncommon for me. And don't even get me started on Pizza. Let's just say that since I've been living on my own PIZZA has pretty much been my dinner almost every other day. I expect my induction to be a little rough at first(cause i know how my body reacts when I dont get these things for a couple of hours, let alone a couple of days!).
Currently I can't afford to join a GYM, but I do have some exercise videos and weights that used to belong to my mother(she bought them and let the collect dust) so I'll be using those until I can save up the money to get a gym membership.
So anyhow, I've rambled enough, I hope to get to know all of you guys in the neart future
