Re: How muchh have you lost on induction?
It is different for everyone, not everyone weighs the same starting out. You typically lose 5% of what you need to lose the first two weeks. I think I lost 12 pounds the first 2 weeks....and yes I exercise ALOT...about 1 1/2 hours a day, 7 days a week and still look for different things to do when I'm not "exercising" to keep busy (walking around the stores, parking far away so I have a bit of a walk, walking around my neighborhood to get some fresh air..etc). Once you get in the habit of exercising it's actually quite fun and addicting
And drink TONS of water. I think it's a lot easier to drink it during the summer when it's so hot and humid than it is in the winter, so get in the habit now and later it will be the first thing you grab (without having to think about it)...instead of the bad stuff
Hope that helps
Good luck!

Re: How muchh have you lost on induction?
I am on my second try and am not using a scale. I am going by measurements this time as they show a true picture of how I am doing. This would be my best piece of advise for you. If you are just starting out, take your measuerments as there will be times when you wont show any loss on the scale for a period of time but those inches will be falling off. My first try at Atkins I lost 15# in the first 2 weeks.
Many people lose 5-10% of their weight during induction then have a small pause as their bodies adjust to all the new changes that have been made. Everyone is different and lose at different rates. Some lose fast and others are slow but steady.
I am walking. Sometime inside with a tape and other times outside in the fresh air.
I follow the list of foods on the induction list and what I eat varies every day. Breakfast is not always eggs. Lots of times it is left overs in the fridge. Depends on what is in the fridge and what time I have for preparation. Dont get caught in the I am sick of eggs trap because there are so many things you can eat for breakfast.

I'm going to answer this backwards...Originally posted by strengthhow much have you lost on induction phase? what was your starting weight? did you exercise? what exactly did you eat?
I exercised and ate only those foods in the amounts specified in the Rules of Induction and the Induction Acceptable Foods list.
You can expect to lose between 5-10% of the weight you need to lose during Induction. Therefore, if you have a 10 pound weight loss goal, you can expect to lose 1/5 to 1 pound. If you have a 100 pound weight loss goal, you can expect to lose 5 to 10 pounds.
Weight loss, itself, depends on many factors:
1. Your age: as you age your metabolism slows down, so "older" people lose weight "slower" than "younger people".
2. Your sex: Women tend to lose weight "slower" than men due to the relatively smaller amount of muscle mass and due to monthly hormonal issues.
3. Your metabolism: Each of us have slightly different metabolisms. So some one with a "slow" metabolism will lose weight "slower" than someone who does not. Also various drugs/medications (BCPs, antidepressants, corticosteriods) can "slow" your metabolism, as can various diseases, like thyroid problems.
4. How strictly you follow the diet. While it's true some people will lose weight if they "cheat" on diets, others do not. So why sabotage yourself by not giving it your 100% from the beginning?
5. Exercise: For some reason people don't like exercise. I suppose it's because the word "exercise" brings on images of wearing spandex and running on expensive treadmills in a gym. Exercise can be as simple as a walk around the block or dancing or swimming. Exercise can be as simple as jumping jacks, push-ups, sit-ups, windmills, lunges, etc.

Re: How muchh have you lost on induction?
I only have 50 pounds to lose so I hope I lose more than 10% the first 2 weeks. I see people losing 10-12 pounds the first 2 weeks. I hope I share their success.Once you get out of your own way, you see, true victory is victory over one's self.
