  • Is it true?

A person will not get the same results on induction as the first time he/she did induction. In other words, I've been on atkins before and had lost total 20lbs in about a month. On induction I had lost 14lbs. But I remember reading the second time you do induction you don't lost as much as the first time. I gained my weight back in other words and was wondering Is it possible to lose 14lbs on induction again.? To those who have restarted...did u get the same induction results?

I'm having about the same induction results as I did about a year ago. I am making lifestyle changes now though so I won't be gaining it back and going back to induction next year. :lol

You are right in this statement as our bodies will be different if we return to Atkins after a lapse into 'normal' eating.
Our bodies will be different - older, body composition might have changed, if we lost weight with Atkins before we may have a different proportion of fat/lean mass as we did previously, if we had been dieting previously we might not have the glycogen stores 'spare' to have the initial large weight drop in induction etc.

Many people find their second attempt at Atkins is slower in results - but some find their body reacts better or the same as previously.
There is no way of telling until you do it

All we can do is follow the plan, eat right, exercise, drink our water and trust the programme to enable us to gain a healthier, trimmer figure in time.

We do have a special forum for those on their ?th time around (the Second Time Around forum) where you will meet many others in your position - but try not to compare your 'results' with anyone else as we are all unique beings whose bodies work to individual timetables
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I found that the induction loss was better this time around. Possibly cause I knew what to do a bit more....and I drank much more water. Good luck...and remember it's not a race...it's a way of life.

          Re: Is it true?

your return to induction results will depend on how dedicated you are, how much your body has changed since the first time. how much the weight differencial is this time as compared to last time and your genetic make up as to are you still producing the same amounts of body chems you were last time or have you crossed your threshold for the next decrease in them.

The Atkins process will continue to work the human body in the absense of carbohydrates will burn triglycerides (fats) for fuel when fed the Atkins plan.

Happy low carbing and i hope you too make the life style changes needed for you so you will not have a 3rd time back as so many folk have.

              Re: Is it true?

This time around, I have "only" lost 8 pounds in 1 month. Am I worried? Nope. I'm still losing a lot of inches, I feel great, have tons of energy, and am working out a LOT and very consistently, which I did not do last time.

Yes, it's annoying sometimes to not show much of a difference on the scale. But I now have the experience with Atkins to know that this WOE works, and works well, and makes me happy. There is no WAY in the world that I can be eating 20 grams or less carbs, calories close to my bmr, and a high level of fat and not lose, so I'm just being patient.

Hang in there if this is happening to you! Oh, and come on over to the SEcond Time ARound forum....
