  • Potential small mistakes?

I went to the gym today and weighed myself. I know I'm not supposed to do this often while on induction... Either way I feel I have some issues/questions I wanted to bring up.

    1. I've had Aspartme over the last few days. This was only with a cough drop though and I couldn't find one without any sugar whatsoever. Its only one or two cough drops a day.

    2. I messed up over this weekend and changed up my schedule and slept later. I also only had two meals a day. How big of an issue is this?

    3. Should I measure my veges? I'm just kind of 'eyeing' the amount of veges I'm eating. I think I should be in the 2-3 cup range.

    4. I have a bit of a cold. Could that modify my weight loss? I'm still exercising and haven't changed my schedule much.

    Thanks!

I would not call these "mistakes". This is all part of living. We have to make this WOE work with our lives, however imperfect they are! That being said, I don't really see any problems with any of these items you mentioned. The cough drops won't hurt you. Aspartame stalls some people, but probably not a cough drops' amount worth. Eyeballing veggies is fine, but I'd recommend measuring them once a week or so just so your eyeballed amount is not doubling in size over time.

Well.. I just measured the salad again and I think one of the problems was that I was having 3-4 cups of veges instead of 2 for lunch. I'm going to officially measure them tomorrow at work :-/

        Not an issue.

Try to eat 3 meals a day + snax. A couple eggs for breakfast is all you need. If you're sick rest is important too.

They're so hard to measure. I ate 2 "baby bok choy" with dinner...whole. Like how am I supposed to measure a whole plant??
        4. I have a bit of a cold. Could that modify my weight loss? I'm still exercising and haven't changed my schedule much.
You'll probably have less energy. Depending on how you feel, light exercise can help your body get rid of the cold by improving circulation...but since your immune system is busy you don't want to overdo it and risk getting worse.

LOLOL Iap, I have the issue of "what on earth is loosely packed"? Sure I can easily stuff 2 baby bok choy into a cup, but I'm thinkin' that's not loosely packed so I pull em out, take the leaves apart and then stuff them back into the cup, and then I think hello, that wasn't loosely packed, it was stuffed into a cup geez.... I can't get it right *sigh*

Burton, I read in the Atkins For Life book (I think?) that 1 cup is approx one fistfull or the size of one baseball... whatever that means, coz I have small fists and I have never seen a baseball before...

The USDA Database lists how much a cup of most foods is reckoned to weigh
You can search it online or download it and save it on your computer. You can search it for any food you need the info about but do need to make sure you are looking at the entry for 'raw' or 'cooked' to have the correct amount.
