Just pick up and keep moving on...
After a few days your cravings will subside and you'll not want any of that bad junk! Keep protein/fat snacks on hand as well as veggies to munch on when a craving strikes and oh yeah.... DRINK LOTS OF WATER! Sometimes if you wait long enough and fill up on water your craving will go away... don't give in but if you do, just pick up and move on!

You CAN do this and you WILL do this! Keep your long term/short term goals in mind and refer to them everytime a craving strikes. The first few days are the hardest.

Congrats on starting a new/better way of eating!

the only way to fight cravings is to stay crap-free for a few days so ketosis kicks in. The longer you go without crap, the less you want it (usually). I've been totally detoxed for 2 yrs 2 months, and wouldn't touch that crap with a 10 foot pole (no cravings here!!). I love the food choices that are available.

So HANG IN THERE, it will soon become habit but you first have to break the cycle so stay true and persistent.
Keep doing what you're doing & you'll keep getting what you're getting!!!

I agree....the cravings will go!! Get your water in.....keep the crap away from you...and you'll be fine. It's tough at first I know. I used to drive miles in my pj's for a fix of chocolate or a Tastycake. No more though. The craving were gonzo once my body detoxed. I almost can't beleive it....but I didn't have a sweet in months......and what's harder to beleive....I don't WANT any sweets. Keep on going!!

If you're having a craving, then eat something....but make it a legal snack. Boiled eggs are great to have on hand, as are dill pickles, veggie sticks with a ranch or blue cheese dressing to dip them in; the ideal snack is a fat/protein combo though, as it'll satisfy you quicker, and sustain you longer.
Teach your body that if it is hungry, it will get fed. If it is craving something sweet, then it'll get fed, but it won't be fed sugar, so it has to get used to that. There can be a period of 'mourning' as your brain and your body get used to the idea that you can't just stuff whatever it is you're craving down your throat, and this can be not the pleasantest of adjustments...but you'll get through it.

If you find yourself with something illegal in your hand, stop, look at it, and ask yourself what this food really offers your body. What will that bite of pastry actually do for you, other than make you feel miserable and cause you to crave more pastry. Then ask yourself if it's worth it. Stay in the moment and live consciously when you are dealing with temptation, and make the choice to pass it by. It's all like a big puzzle, and each little piece will add up to a wonderful big picture, so keep that in mind.

Get all that crap out of your house so it's not there to tempt you! Or, ask you husband or kids to hide it from you! I love to eat deviled eggs, chicken wings with blue cheese dressing & celery, some string cheese, celery with cream cheese, get some legal snacks in your house and eat them everytime you crave sweets and you will teach your mind and body to adjust. Don't worry about calories right now, if you are hungry eat! It's more important to get the sugar out of your system at first. Stay away from that low carb candy, Atkins bars, things like that because you will never conquer your sugar addiction until all the sugar is out of your system. It's hard, but hang in there, you can do it!

The only way I got rid of those temptations was to do two things: first, I stopped eating out for 2 weeks. I committed to ONLY eating things I had prepared myself. The second thing, and probably the most important, was to eat something extremely high in fat as soon as I was tempted or had a craving. The fat eliminated the craving within 3 minutes!

oh yeah eating out is a BIG ONE. No one is saying quit eating out forever, but you have GOT to completely detox and that takes time. Fixing your own food is a whole different thing than eating out. I wouldn't eat from a 'place' for a long time, till I had it nailed down.
