this is my first post back after a 3 month bingefest. not cute. i really want to do this correctly, and don't think i ever ate enough calories last time i tried this. can anyone tell me how to calculate my bmr and if that's how many calories i need to eat every day, or how many less to lose weight, i'm confused. basically i don't want to starve myself this time, but i don't want to eat too much either. thanks.

Here's a really good calculator. and he lets you know what you should be eating above and below (remember you should always be eating above your BMR)

the only thing wrong with that is you need to know your lean mass to get a very accurate total. On average you don't want to go more then a few days below your BMR but you will not instantly go into starvation mode by being too low a day or two at a time so listen to your body and let it tell you when it is hungry and when it needs more food then the day before.

If you are eating your induction foods and allowing your hunger to dictate how much you eat with some fat, some protein, and some carb at every meal you should be eating what your body needs for your metabolic rate. Yes induction ketosis does suppress appetite but the 6 hour rule should keep you from getting too low a cal intake if you will eat and not count cals to start. Listen to your body if you are fatigued you need to eat more if not you are doing fine. If you have ever seen a toddler eat they are very picky for several meals at a time and then suddenly they are eating and you are shocked at how much the kid ate. They are listening to their bodies say I'm hungry and feeding it. We learn to feed our eyes and our belly space as we are taught to clean our plates and always eat 3 meals a day with snacks and lose that response to hunger only. That is something that successful Atkineers reaquire.

      happy low carbing.
