  • Softdrinks made with SPLENDA???

I read it somewhere but can't find it now. A can of diet soda made with splenda you count as how many carbs? I thought it was ONE but wanted to make sure. And it doesn't contain sugar alcohols right?

    Thanks,
    Lorraine

I don't count diet soda as having any carbs, but I do count it towards my sweetener allottment for the day.

    Liquid splenda is carb free.

The can should say on it how many servings it contains. Count one carb for each serving of sweetener - see page 128 'Artificial sweeteners'.
Domt forget your daily limit is 3 servings of sweeteners.

        On page 129, it says
"Note that each packet of sugar substitute contains about 1 gram of carbohydrate, so don't forget to include the amount in your daily totals."
For powdered sweeteners carbs must be counted because of the bulking agents, but liquid artificial sweeteners do not contain the bulking agents. And Elizellen is correct- double check those serving sizes and pay attention to them to keep within your 3 serving limit!
