  • Mood Swings?

Is this normal on induction and how long will it last? My poor kids! Well, one is teething and I just seem to have no patience with her.

I am wearing my Taz t-shirt that says, "Caution Mood Swings" today.

    Re: Mood Swings?

I've read some Atkineers complaining of them. It does make sense because sugar has a euphoric/pain relieving effect on the human body (note: most "comfort foods" are high carb). In fact, a 24% sucrose solution is used as a pain reliever for babies undergoing circumcism!

How many carbs are you eating daily? If you are a "lettuce person", you might want to vary your veggies by substituting that lettuce for some of the higher carb veggies on the veggie lists.

I believe this is due to the body feeling 'starved' of carbs - you CAN do this - just think of your dreams !

Don't know what day your on of induction but you possibly have Induction Flu. Go down to the Second Time Around Club and read the second post called "Induction Flu", I'm on day 4 and have a bit of it myself. Hold on girl, it will get better. I'm right there with ya!

Thanks everyone! It def sounds like the induction flu. This too shall pass, right? Thanks for the encouragement. I really needed it today. Instead of eating everything like I would in the past, I made choc chip muffins for the kids so I wouldn't be tempted by the choc chips laying there (even though the muffins tempt me too-I was trying to prove to myself that I could handle it, lol).

I also went out and bought some celery, cream cheese and frying cheese. I am a cheese kind of girl. And I also found some diet 7-up with Splenda.

Now I am off to exercise because I know I will feel better after that.

On day 4 too and trying to remember and visualize my dream (thanks dpshaw)!
