  • Special Category Foods

Hi Lorraine again, on page 129 in DANDR it has this category under induction. It says to add variety you can also eat 10-20 olives, half a small avocado, one ounce of sour cream or three ounces of heavy cream, as well as two to three tablespoons of lemon juice or lime juice. I may be brain dead right now but can you consume ALL these things in ONE DAY?? I mean olives, 1/2 avocado, heavy cream, lemon juice???
That's how i read this paragraph. I KNOW it's EITHER lemon juice OR lime juice and it's either one ounce of sour cream OR three ounces heavy cream BUT can you have the whole lot of olives, avocado, cream and lemon juice???
    Thanks
    Lorraine

Just remember the Special Category Foods are in a special category because they can cause problems with weight loss (as it explains in the book). So, while you can eat them, eat them with care.

I believe the daily limit on heavy cream during this period is 2-3 tablespoons - or 1½ ounces, or about 44 milliliters/1 jigger.

              Re: Special Category Foods

I was a little confused about the heavy cream thing myself. On page 127 of DANDR under induction beverages it says 2 to 3 tablespoons of cream are allowed but on page 129 under special category foods it says that 3 ounces are allowed. Am i missing something or is this a typo?

                Re: Special Category Foods

                they are two different things.
Specail catagory foods are just that and some folk can have all of them and some folk can have none while most chan handle one or two of them a day. Thosre are there first and formost IF your metabolism can handle them as a part of your weight loss as bonus allowed foods during induction. Sort of like a special Atkins treat instead of a candy bar.

Use them wisely and learn your body's limits.

The other cream limits are normal induction fod amounts. Again your body may or may noit be able to handle them as part of your weight loss. like tomatoes and onions have a warning about some folk not being able to have them during induction even though they are induction legal.
