  • R there any higher fat veggies?

Hi all! Day 4 of induction now, and I'm a little concerned about my fat intake... I've only used Fitday for 2 days, but my menu's been in the same general area for all 4 days. I'm averaging around 54% fat, 3% carb, & 41% protein. I'm adding mayo & butter to everything I can, and munching on pork skins here and there. My veggies so far have consisted of 2 cups of lettuce (w/ oil & vinegar, crumbled bacon, & feta cheese) each day and 1 cup of either cauliflower or broccoli (w/ butter). I feel very satisfied with the things I've been eating, but is the fat too low? I know 65% is the rule. If I have to add something, I prefer it was veggies...if there are any that would help.
BTW... Feeling FANTASTIC today!!!! (just hoping the headache doesn't return tonight....those things are brutal!)

    Thanks for the help!

    Most veggies are fat free.

Your protein is a bit high at 41%. It should be more like 30%. Pork skins are higher in protein than they are in fat, because the fat is fried out of them.

So, I suggest you decrease the amount of protein you are eating slightly. Keep the fats and the carbs the same. You don't want to eat too much protein because excessive protein is stored as fat.

Try frying up some zuchini slices in butter and topping them with parmesan.

Melt cheese over your broccolli or cauliflower.

Use a creamy salad dressing instead of oil and vinegar.

Get in some sour cream somewhere.

This is literally a "diet" where the more fat you eat, the more fat you lose!

Ahhh Finelly, you're my new hero . It's often the obvious things that I miss. I will try both of those suggestions (less protein, more fat on veggies).

        Thanks!

You're very welcome!!!!! I myself find that I tend to lose better when my fats are near 70%, so I'm used to finding things to add fat with!
