Anyone tried this yet? I love it! try it chilled or frozen, (I prefer frozen)

8 oz heavy whipping cream 8 oz sour cream
8 oz cream cheese (softened) 1/2 c. splenda
    1 tsp. vanilla

whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. set aside. Mix the remaining ingredients until smooth. fold in the whipping cream.

This makes 12 servings (divide equally between 12 foil muffin cups or 12 fluted glasses, ect...) 3 net carbs per serving.

You can add strawberries or blackberries or blueberries on top, just remember to add the carbs.

Hope you enjoy the treat, I sure did, so glad I found it!

I make it without the whipped cream and it is still yummy. Tastes exactly like cheesecake except in pudding form!

Oh, and if you add a couple of teaspoons of flax seed meal on top, it has the taste of graham cracker crust!

..and remember to wait until you're at the proper rung in OWL to add those as well!

        Re: dom's cheesecake pudding

I'm so glad I spotted this thread. I was actually here to ask whether I was allowed to have a cream-cheese-only variation of this recipe for dessert, providing I'm within my 4 oz cheese limit.

I wasn't sure if this was okay because the book and the meal plans make no mention of regular dessert, and I was under the impression that this was deliberately to get new dieters out of the mindset that a meal wasn't complete without a sweet treat at the end. I allow myself a dessert only 3x a week because I also personally think I could benefit from breaking the entitled-to-dessert mindset.

What do you guys typically do? Do you normally have a dessert after dinner, or are these recipes generally meant for special occasions only? I did love my nightly sugar-free Jell-o treat when I was doing South Beach, but Atkins says no aspartame, and I'm too lazy to make my own from the unflavored/kool-aid concoction...

One of my favorite sweet-treats is a tub of Crystal Light powder mixed into a 36 oz carton of plain yogurt (4 1 cup servings). I look forward to reaching the level of OWL that allows me to enjoy that again...

          Re: dom's cheesecake pudding

Many people advocate that we try to get rid of our sweet tooth entirely while in induction. They say it is best to eliminate all sweet treats for at least two weeks.

I personally have not done this, either time I was on the woe. After the first couple of days, (ie, after I am in ketosis), I allow myself on sweet treat per day. Sometimes more, if I am having, for example, pumpkin as a veg.

          Some of my choices are:

          1. Sugar-free jello blended before it sets with a block of cream cheese. I like black cherry jello the best. I reduce the amount of water in the jello mix by about half, so it is really firm.

          2. Cheesecake pudding

          3. Faux fried apples: Jicama sliced thinly and sauteed in butter until golden brown, then mixed with cinnamon and splenda

          4. Cheesecake made with splenda. Basically the pudding recipe, plus two eggs, baked.

          5. On very very special occasions, I will whip up 1/4 cup of cream mixed with 1 teaspoon (or more) cocoa powder and splenda. It makes chocolate mousse to die for, and just a little is very satisfying.
