  • Day Three and a few questions please

Hi I am on day three of induction with my husband and I'm hoping to ask a few questions and get some advise. Man am I ever cranky .... Will this go away... I've had a headache for 2 days and have felt a little "off kilter" as well... I know that it is sugar addicition as I was a 2 can of coke a day junkie- how long before this goes away...

also, i am going to have bacon (no sugar, no carbs) and eggs again this morning.. but i am wondering exactly how healthy this is.. i feel bad for eating this way- make sense?? like a bagel would be better (yeah right)- the breakfast helps me and I am not famished 2 hours later like breakfasts before...

anyway just wanted to say hi- and i hope that i can meet some nice people on this board that will help me and my husband succeed at this and maybe get some good pointers...

yes i have read the dandr book cover to cover... i'm still floating and assimilating all the information... lots to take in....

Re: Day Three and a few questions please

Hi there. I'm on Day 9 of Induction. I felt absolutely *terrible* -- achey, tired, with really, really bad headaches -- for the first three days. I felt much better on Day 4, and totally great on Day 5. So hang in there! It goes away after a while.

Don't feel bad for eating this way -- I know what you mean, at first it feels a little counter-intuitive -- but just keep reading the relevant sections of the book to put your mind at ease. And eat your veggies! And take your supplements!

    Best of luck

Trust me it goes away like shrinky said after a few days and then you feel great. Just remember this feeling when you think about eating something no on the acceptable foods list. Good luck.

If it helps, alot of the bacon fat is cooked out. That doesn't do much for me since I like it "soft" but if you like your bacon crispy, a LOT is cooked out.

I know it's hard to wrap around, but fat isn't the enemy. Carbs aren't always the enemy either - but fat & carbs together= metabolic disaster AND a big butt.

          FAT ISN'T THE ENEMY!

Hope to see you around often!

Does this mean I can't eat a huge bowl of pasta covered in heavy cream and butter, and take my magical Butt-Be-Gone pills to negate the effect?

Monica...I hate to break this to you, but the Butt-Be-Gone pills are for losing men, not gluteous maximus excesses.

Hi! You poor thing, I know exactly how your feeling, I was like that all week last week (which was my first week of induction.) Go down to "the Second time around club" forum, and read the second post called "Induction Flu", this post really hits the nail on the head and has some really good suggestions to help you through it. Good luck and hang in there, it will pass.

Re: Day Three and a few questions please

I have been eating bacon and eggs at least 4 or 5 days a week for 5 months now and my cholesterol is way down and all my labwork is much improved. This is a great WOE!! BUT, this only works as long as we stay legal and keep the carbs low!
