  • Newbie has a quick question

Hi! My name is John. I will be starting my Induction Phase soon. I heard a lot of good things about the Atkins diet so I thought I would give it a try.

I have one questions regarding canned sardines in Soybean oil. Are they okay--does soybean oil contain any carbs? For some reason on cans of sardines there is no nutritional information.

Any way glad to be a part of this forum and I will let you all know how I make out.

    Take care.

    John

Re: Newbie has a quick question

          Welcome to our family, John

Likewise I have no inside knowledge on the soybean oil but I do have a suggestion tthat might help find teh nutrition info you need.

First ask the shop where you buy the tins to find out the info for you. They can ask their supplier and I bet that legally they have a duty to give this info out when asked.

If this turns into a blind alley then find out from the tin label the contact details of the company that packages/imports the tins and contact them for the nutrition information. Most companies have websites or 0800 numbers nowadays so this need not give you any great expense.

Last resort - if you cant get ANY info then buy another brand and tell the shop that sells them the reason why you will no longer buy that product.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: Newbie has a quick question

Thank you everyone for the info! I actually found out the nutritional information from their website. Sardines in Soybean contain 1 gram of Carbs. Like lots2lose above mentioned the ones in olive oil or water contain 0 Carbs so I will try to find them in olive oil. They just aren't too good in water

            Thanks again!
