    retaining water...

I drink a lot of water each day, but when i wake up in the morning, I'm puffy in the face, and my fingers are a little swollen. Why does this happen? I'm eating acceptable foods...I just hate this feeling and want to get rid of it!

The only thing I can think of is that you are eating too much sodium. Try to cut back on the salt for a day and drink the same amount of water, and see how you feel... if not that I have no idea..

Too much salt? Are you taking the right supplements? Are you getting exercise?

If you're in OWL, you might check to see if something you are eating is causing the water retention.

Also, might try eating asparagus, horseradish, or another veggie known to help you release water.

Retaining water might as well be caused by some kind of food allergy. My body goes into big time fluid retaining with several foods I'm allergic to, as well as with hayfever. Sometimes it's a reaction to stuff like citric acid, or dairy, or... for me in particular to soy products.

Hope you find out what causes it.

I'd say it sounds like too much sodium as well. From personal experience if I don't drink enough water during the course of an evening and eat something salty, I wake up that way as well...stiff hands and puffy eyes, etc.
