  • nice cuppa tea

Just completed my two weeks of induction -- 7lbs lost so far, though I think it may be much more -- I stupidly didn't weigh myself until one week in. Clothes looser, at any rate.

Anyway, my question is about tea. I'm English. I drink a lot of tea, it's genetic. I've switched to decaff with no problems, and weaned myself off sugar, but I *do* still have a splash of semi-skimmed milk with each mug (maybe 4-5 a day, the rest of the time I drink green tea). Can't do black tea. I know we're not allowed milk... but it doesn't seem to be stalling me, and we're talking really minute quantities.... is sticking to my tea likely to cause a problem?

    I really hope not

Heavy cream is allowed and may be a better option for you to splash in your tea.

Way to go on the successful induction and the 7 # loss!

I say go for the heavy cream.

Be mindful of building a mindset where you start thinking "Oh, it's just a splash of cream, it's not going to make a difference." I'm not saying that's what you're doing here, but it's an easy thing to fall into, so be careful.

Each little thing you do is like one more piece to the puzzle so make all the changes you need to make in order to get this all together.

congrats on your great success so far.
yep measure out your cream portion for the day and then that is your tea whitener. When it is gone no more! you can dilut it with water to make you think you got more. And remember just case you didn't finish it all yesterday you can't bank it for today or later in the week.

        Happy low carbing.

Random thought: anyone know what's in the non-dairy creamer? I'm going to suspect lots of carbs, but just wondering...

Whatever you use, count the carbs. Right now you are losing well, but as you get closer to goal you might have to re-evaluate cause it might make it harder to lose. It all depends on your body.

Kisses - chemicals are in non-dairy creamer. Blech, I was never able to get myself to drink that stuff. My dh swears by it though - he'd much rather have that than 1/2n1/2 or cream.
