  • Starting again

Hi. I am Katie and I am starting Atkins again for the second time. The first time didn't work out so well for me and now I want to try again. I think Atkins is a great diet and I know it works. My boyfriend recently lost over 50 pounds and he looks great. I want to do it right this time and I plan on trying my hardest to stick to it.

I am not ready to post my starting weight, and I am not really sure how much I want to lose right now, but I think after a month or so, I will know.

    Re: Starting again

    welcome kitkat...

in a way I understand about the weight (not posting)... in a way I think it might help you 'let it go' if you just open up...

I was SO hesitant about posting a pic at first... I was so ashamed.... but then I realized, we all have things to fight against...

anyway.. I have a younger sis who weighs 360. The doc told her to lose big time by SEpt. or he was going to do surgery.... it's becoming life threatening for her...

so... even though I felt so awful that I hadn't taken care of myself, I realized I have to begin someplace... so did my sis... (she's going to a gym and walking, and eating better.... don't know what the sept. results will be)

SO.... we mostly talk about eVERYTHING here... so hopefully one day soon you'll see .. we're not a bad bunch to confide in
    2-15-10 194.8 - highest ever!
    2-20-10 190.4 - new scale
    3-20-10 177.8 - 1 month
    5-10-10 169.8 - 25 pounds gone!

Thanks for all the support. Things are going well. I am feeling a little run down this morning, but I know that feeling will pass. I have been going to Curves, which helps too!

                  Re: Starting again

                  Welcome back!
Check out the Second Time Around Club a little farther down on the forum menu. Doing Induction the second or third time will yield different results than the first time a person does it, and it's good to know more or less what to expect.

Re: posting your weight. Certainly you don't need to worry about being judged here about what you weigh so when you're ready, please do post a start/current/goal weight, even if the goal weight is approximate.
Some questions (like "I lost xx pounds during my first two weeks...is that good?") are easier to answer if we know where your starting point is, even if it's just the amount of weight you want to lose instead of saying your actual start weight.
                  All the best to you!

                    Welcome kitkat.
I know it is a big step to actually put that number down ...there is no denying it then. It was a huge step for me too and one that helped me be more honest with myself. And I can hardly wait to start changing the Current Weight one!
Anyway...you are here and doing what you can. Read lots of posts and see that everyone is accepted and supported here no matter what their weight is.
