Re: Need Help
the longer you eat this way the easier it gets. each day that passes you consider the other foods less and less.
day 2 is difficult, day 3 isn't easy either. the first 7 days can be tough. the second week things start getting easier...in the 3rd week you are on OWL and you have some extra choices...
stick with it and you will see that what I say is true.

Re: Need Help
I'm about to pelt you with some of my favorite quotes and a bunch of cliches - and all of them apply to Y.O.U. !!
"Whether you believe you can or can't, you'll be right."
Erica - This isn't an easy endeavor to take on. I think it's great that you recognize that, but it's not hopeless by any stretch. Take a look at the company you're in around here.
You are the only one who can affect change for yourself. You're the only one who can PLAN PLAN PLAN to make sure you're successful.
"Failing to plan is planning to fail." It's cliche, but it's true. You've got to decide that you're going to be successful and you have to decide that "you're going to stop trading what you want most for what you want at the moment."
If you want to quit, no one here can stop you. What we can tell you is that quitting is going to leave you right where you're at. "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've got."
SEIZE THE DAY!
Perspective is EVERYTHING. You can choose to view this as punishment and sacrifice, you can choose to view this as the first day of the rest of your new, healthier life. A life where you're comfortable in your own skin, comfortable with the choices you make, comfortable getting out in the world and being active and being seen. - But only YOU can do that. Us? We can kick you in the butt when you need it and hold your hand when you need it.
You've got support and friends in us, but you have to believe in you and see your finish line in your head.
And if you believe in you half as much as we already do, you're gonna be unstoppable.
Now chin up. This is work. Hard work. But it's absolutely something you can do for yourself, and you deserve it
I wish you success.

Re: Need Help
It really does get easier!! I'm over 5 weeks in induction and it gets easier every single day. You get used to not eating all the garbage you ate before.
Maybe you should look at this in a different way. Instead of thinking about how you are going to do this tomorrow, next week or even next month; think about how much success you had yesterday! Dont waste the time you've already put in by quitting. Everyday you do this is more time spent and more time you just shouldnt throw away. I've spent 37 days doing this and Im not about to waste those 37 days by sticking a cookie in my mouth today. I dont worry about tomorrow and I dont worry about next year.
It looks to me like you want to lose about 35 pounds.. Well, I've got about 120 left. I've already lost 30. If I can do 150 pounds, then I know you can do 35. You can do this. Dont waste yesterday!Male, 29 y/o Chicago, IL

Re: Need Help
Hi Erica
Girl Brook and Jobu1977 are sooo right. Remember what Jobu1977 said "Instead of thinking about how you are going to do this tomorrow, next week or even next month; think about how much success you had yesterday! Dont waste the time you've already put in by quitting. Everyday you do this is more time spent and more time you just shouldnt throw away. You can do it we are here for you remember. This forum is like a family. The only way i got threw it in jan of this year is getting on here everday and getting help. I also bought the Atkins Journal and wrote every thing down. Was easier after a week because i already had my menus planned out. i would just go back a week and see what i was eating. It also has a list of induction foods for you and its small enough to fit in a medium sized purse.
Besides what would i do with out your support. You helped me get threw my second day (yesterday). But like Brook said "If you want to quit, no one here can stop you." But we are here for you.
your buddy,
shelly lynn

Re: Need Help
Hang in there!! You CAN do this!!! Something that pushes me through each day is: if I'm not trying, them I'm only getting heavier. While I am trying this way of eating, I'm not experiencing any feelings of guilt over what I eat, I have more energy and things are getting easier with each day. You have received great advice from the above posters!!!

Re: Need Help
or go splurge on some good LEGAL food at the grocery store... cooked or uncooked.. either way.. it reminds you that you CAN not only survive this... but enjoy it!!
I LOVE shopping for bacon, sausage, buying those whole rotesserie (sp) cooked chickens in the deli section... some 'expensive' cheese from the deli.. (something that doesn't say Kraft)
