  • Do you have a favorite day to start?

    Hi,
I have done well with this WOE but recently I fell off. I have been working out more but my eating and drinking has taken a nose dive for the worse. I am going to restart induction soon. I wanted to wait until Monday and "enjoy" the rest of the weekend. Is that advisable?

I have a goal and would like to reach it by next month (check the siggy). Do you think it is possible?

    Thanks

I'm a Monday girl myself, Gabby, so for me to give you the speech about how "right NOW is the best time to start" - while valid and true - would be me blowing smoke. LOL

So, I'm not gonna blow smoke at you. I'm going to say.....I'll be joining you on Monday.

    See ya then

Re: Do you have a favorite day to start?

If you want to restart induction just do it. Re-read the book and go ahead. As for a special day... to me the best day to start would be a friday with the weekend ahead of me so I can give in to fatigue and eat little bits of allowed foods all day without interfering with my job / daily routine.

I wish you best with your goal, but what really matters is to reach it and to stay on goal. Your body knows best when it is the right time to reach goal weight. Of course you can try and may be at goal weight by the time you want to - increase your exercise, if possible. But if you have not thatmany pounds to lose you'd be better off with a slow approach as in OWL or Pre-Maintenance, anyway, after you have finished clean induction. Just my 2 cent, of course.

(Oh, and I really think you can 'enjoy' a weekend on induction foods )

          Yep that's me...and thank you

I'm up about 13lbs from that picture though - and it's time to get them back off and get it back under control before it continues to run and ruin me.

Start knocking out the really bad stuff now, and hit it full barrel come Monday morning. I'll be right behind you!

You'll find I'm pretty hard-core when it comes to my plan, and you'll also find that I *NEVER* wish anyone "luck". Luck has squat to do with it, instead, I'll wish you success

I like your style! Good for you. I have been working out a lot and hurt my knee but it is better so I am back to my walk/runs. I go to the gym everyday except Friday. Monday I will be there and starting induction again. I have to get my menu together tonight and shop tomorrow. Any suggestions?

Re: Do you have a favorite day to start?

I can show you what I just posted on my fridge about an hour ago for the coming week.

This includes meals for my 3 kids. My meals are in ( ) after theirs if it's not appropriate for me.

When I say "salad", for me it's a romaine, spinach, tomato, cucumber and sometimes a bit of jicama for a base. Sometimes, depending on where I'm at for cheese consumption for the day I'll add a bit of freshly grated cheese, and I'm a die-hard HVR Bacon Ranch fan, but sometimes will use an oil vinegrette.

              Hope That Helps Some

Re: Do you have a favorite day to start?

you are great! I have 3 kids too! thanks for that.I have not tried the Bacon ranch dressing yet. I am a big EvOO and Vinegar fan. that may be why I get bored with my salads.

How often do you weigh yourself? I have to stop, I do it everyday. Anyway thanks for the info. I added the dressing to my shopping list.

Re: Do you have a favorite day to start?

I'm a daily scale jumper ...when I'm on plan and brave enough to weigh in. LOL

But I also know and thoroughly understand the fluctuations in day to day weighing and if I see a number today that's higher than yesterday's, it doesn't even cause me pause. I only count Monday morning weigh-ins. (Heh. there's that Monday thing again.) There's a really great article on why and how scales lie I'd strongly suggest you read.

There are a lot of really great no-sugar added dressings out there. Become an avid label reader and find something you really like Marie's Bleu Cheese is dabomb too!

I've been struggling bigtime & *very* recently just bared my soul about it. It's a journey, not a destination, and I keep having to remind myself of that.

I'd strongly suggest writing yourself up a menu for the coming week and doing any prep work you need to do so you don't have any reason to fall off or veer off plan. Right now I'm supposed to be sleeping, but it was more important to me to make sure all the veggies are washed and chopped and in containers for the coming week. LOL

I'll get all the sleep I need when I'm dead...or so I'm told

With about 12lbs for you to lose, and at 5'3", you may find that shaving off those last few pounds is going to take more time than you hope. Take heart. It happens to all of us and we're here to help you along the way. It's fantastic that you've already got your exercise routine in place! You've got half the battle down pat already. BTW, there's a new exercise challenge starting tomorrow, so you may want to mosey on over to the Exercise Challenge forum and take a look at it (6WEC). Great people - great incentive.
