  • What's your favorite thing about induction?

Is it the flu bit, because you know you're about to enter a new way to lose weight and feel great?

Is it the energy WOOHOO you get after the first week?

Or do you really just dig eggs and said to yourself, "Now THIS is a way of eating I can follow for LIFE, man!"

What are some of the things you most enjoy about induction?

For me, I love it because it is a threshold to a new way of living. Going from tired and depressed to hoopie amounts of energy in the span of about a week with this WOE is so amazing!

I feel better already just writing about it!

I've been off Atkins for awhile, so this is my first day back. I look forward to being back in the winner's circle of weight loss and good health again!

For me, the best part about induction is that fact that its so easy!

I can't imagine being in pre-maintanence or maintanence and not having the joy of ketosis behind your back lol

Welcome back, Cleo!! You've been missed, sweetie!

The best thing about induction (as memory serves me...) was FINISHING IT LOSING 7 POUNDS.

I'm with Brook! I could kiss Dr. Atkins for making it only 14 days long!

But what I liked about Induction was the food. I was a low fat vegetarian for a number of years (and gained weight on it too!) It was a relief that I wasn't starving between meals. I used to eat a bowl of oatmeal with soy milk at 7AM and by 8:30AM I was hungry. At 10 AM I had to a snack of 2 apples or 2 oranges. By 11:30 AM I was hungry again. Lunch was a very low fat veggie sandwich and juice. By 2:00 PM I was hungry. At 3:00PM I'd have to eat another snack of fruit juice or fruit. On the drive home from work---I was hungry. Dinner would be something with pasta/rice/potatoes. I'm very certain that my hunger between meals contributed to overeating at meals, which contributed to gaining weight.

              So Atkins = not hungry = <----me

I think my favorite thing is the feeling of accomplishment I am feeling as I eat this way and feel the clothes get looser and the excitement/hope about how much healthier and better I am going to look and feel. And I think also...since I don't weigh in until tomorrow...but I know I have dropped...the feeling of success!

Oh yeah...and eating fat without feeling guilty....LOL!

Definately the good old ketosis lack of hunger.

                  No munchies

                  No food cravings

Being able to think about something other than what the next meal would be.

Even though I'm still on induction (day 17), I like the feeling of not being hungry. I used to have mood swings and now I don't. I have pretty creative with my meals so as to not get off of induction or cheat and that helps a lot.

i totally agree with some of you.
my favorite moment is getting on the scale on the 14th day and seeing that it went down. Some see is it go down quite a bit and some only see 1-2 pounds but thats enough motivation for me just to know that it went down is a big step forward.

Re: What's your favorite thing about induction?

My favorite thing is not sitting in the kitchen looking for something to eat 5 hours out of my day because I am hungry. I don't miss that at all. And it is remarkably easy to say NO to carbs and that is cool. I went to a wedding just recently and had no problem at all passing up all of the "good" stuff and was able to eat turkey, deviled eggs, and brocolli with ranch. It was fun. And I was full. And I did not have to think, "This is a special ocassion and I overdid it, I'll get back on my diet on Monday" - Because I did not cheat. I did not have to!

MY favorite part is feeling snazzy, and being able to make a pan of brownies and not being even a BIT tempted to lick the spoon!

I have found it amazing that I have to remind myself to eat! Yeah!!!!

Induction has helped me with my food cravings and I actually feel full faster.
