Re: Why am I so depressed during induction?
That's GREAT!!!
Now, before you chase me down and bwap me on the head, listen to some of the best schtuff you've ever heard:
The harder the induction, the more addicted and horribly your body was reacting to the foods you once ate. You are now a junkie in detox.
Once you 'detox', you're on Happy Street, and all the lights are GREEN, baby!
So, the worse you feel right now, the more excited I am for you! It means you're going to feel all the much better in 2 weeks! I can't wait!

Re: Why am I so depressed during induction?
There were many a cranky day at the Moochiecat household when I was on Induction and for some time after. Right now you are going through withdrawal from all the yukky stuff you used to eat and it's normal.
Some folks (me) have gone through a mourning period when they (me) realize they have completely left certain foods (sweet treats) behind them. Coming to terms with this can make some people (me) a bit despondent, but once you start seeing the weight come off, it is all worth it and things start feeling pretty darn bright!

Re: Why am I so depressed during induction?
Some people, when detoxing from all the carbs and sugar and Little Debbie Snack Cakes, get nauseated and headachey and feel like they have a whopping case of the flu.
Others find that the people in their lives slowly back away from them with looks of horror on their faces, that absolutely nothing in life has any value, that pretty much everything sucks, and everyone in the world is stupid.
Other people sail through feeling absolutely delightful from day one.
Sounds like you might be in the second group, there.
Not much to do about it, quite frankly, except to stick to the program. As Cleo says, one morning you are going to wake up and feel this rush of energy and good will toward everything. At that point, you will have the "Atkins high" and everything will be absolutely wonderful. You may find yourself whistling Disney tunes and in that case, people will still back away from you, but if you stop humming "It's a small world", they will return.Started Atkins 2d time 6/20/05

LOL Finelly!
I am glad to hear that someone else is in the same boat. My husband asked me this yesterday, "Doing that diet can change your whole chemistry. Do you think it is making you not love me anymore?" That is funny. I have been a B*tch to him lately. I don't want him near me. I don't even want him to touch me. My personal bubble is very important for some reason. I wondering what was going on with me. I was kinda scared!

Splandra - one way to reassure him is to tell him that most women find that their libido rises dramatically once ketosis is firmly in place and about 10 lbs comes off..............
