  • Yougurt On Induction?????

Hello everyone well Im back for another round of induction. I was wondering if I incorperated Yogurt and fruit if it was still possible to lose weight. say for instance like, in the mornings have a yogurt smoothie and at lunch and dinner eat a regular atkins meal. Would I just totally ruin it then?

Yogurt is not on the induction list. Neither are fruit. If you want to do Atkins and make it work, stick to the plan. Read the book (DANDR) and the stickies on this board.

Eating yogurt and fruit and losing weight may work for you, but it is not Atkins, at least not until you reach the fruit rung in OWl or pre-maintenance. There is a reason for the induction phase and rules. If you *want* to eat these things you can either wait until you enter the dairy and fruit rung -or you should consider a diet along the line sof South Beach.

just my 2 cent, of course

Fruit and yogurt are okay when you get to the appropriate rungs of the OWL phase.

Just remember, Induction is 14 days minimum. On day 15 you can move onto OWL and eat a greater variety (and usually a larger amount) of food.

and that's how I ended up in OWL instead of staying in induction.... I had yogurt... (no fruit yet at that point... . it was vanilla cream)..... but I wanted it enough to go ahead and move to OWL....

yeah.. it slowed down the weight loss.. but I've never been sorry...

so... my advice is stick out that 14 days yogurt and fruit free... then go buy you some good Blue Bunny low carb yogurt to celebrate on day 15!
        2-15-10 194.8 - highest ever!
        2-20-10 190.4 - new scale
        3-20-10 177.8 - 1 month
        5-10-10 169.8 - 25 pounds gone!

Good advice about the first 14 days - but the first OWL rung is 5 net carbs of more induction-style veggies - Dairy (yogurt) comes in the second OWL rung so would be allowed on day 29
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
