  • Is it true that.....

If you have a lot of weight to lose you lose a lot more at the start then if you only have a little to lose?

I'm trying to get rid of those last few pregnancy pounds I gained with my son, I only have maybe fifteen to twenty to go but was wondering if I would expect the same results as other's with a lot more to lose have seen with their first fourteen day's?

    Thanks for any help..

    Re: Is it true that.....

I can only speak for myself, but I lost weight at a real good pace in the beginning (I've lost about 58 lbs). Now I have a little over 20 lbs. to go and my loss has slowed tremendously. But thats o.k., I figure the slower it comes off the longer it will stay off. Plus I am exercising a lot, and you know, muscle weighs more than fat.

I think the closer you are to your goal, or the less amount of weight you must lose, it does come off slower.

But thats o.k., this way of eating will work for you. Good luck!

most people with regular metabolisims lose about 5-10% of the weight during induction.
Other factors will play in, but thats the norm for the most part.

          In a word, sunkitty- no.

It's a numbers and perspective game.

If someone starts induction with 100lbs to lose and they lose 5-10% of that in the first two weeks, they'll lose 5-10lbs.

If someone starts with 10lbs to lose and they lose 5-10%, they'll lose 1/2 - 1lb.

They both lost the same percentage of weight.

When I started, I only wanted to lose 15 pounds .. but I lost 7 during the two week induction ... Changed my goal about 4 times! Of course I exercise like a maniac...
