  • Naushad's question about Metabolic resistance

Naushad, in case your post gets overlooked I have taken the liberty of reposting it as a new thread.
BTW to start a new thread all you need to do is click on the 'new thread' box at the top of the forum in which you want to post and a 'post new thread' box will appear.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: Naushad's question about Metabolic resistance

    Welcome to our family, Naushad.

Many people find their Atkins seems to work differently for them the second time around which is why there is a new(ish) forum here called 'The Second Time Around Club'.

If you visit that forum and read the stickies and join in with the regular posters there you will see how others found it worked for them and perhaps get some reassurance and answers to your worries.

The crowd that frequents the STAC are very supportive and encouraging as they are all in the same boat and have had the same problems and doubts that you are having now and will welcome you with open arms.

One thing you have to realise and remember is that now you are a different person than you were the first time you did induction.

By doing Atkins previously you changed your body composition by losing fat, so you may not have so much 'fluff' to lose now. Exercising is helping you build muscle too which does not take as much room as the same weight of fat, so you will notice inches disappearing but not many pounds.

Someone posted recently (I think in the STAC forum) that they had lost no pounds but lots of inches You said
I look like I have lost
So this is happening to you too Make sure you measure your body and note these measurements down so you can watch yourself shrink in size even when the scale tells you your weight has not altered.

Elizelle, you rock for placing this in its own thread! I never saw it!

Hi, naushad! Your body is playing 'hard to lose' because it remembers what happened the last time. Remember to drink a lot of water and exercise. Write down what you're eating and you'll lose the weight. It might take a little longer to get back into ketosis, but once you do, and once you stick with it, your body will know you mean business!

Also, watch your sodium and drink lots of water. Sodium could be a reason you didn't lose as much initially. Water retention is a bear.
