Re: Shakes??
You could make a shake out of induction legal ingredients; however, I can't think of a pre-prepared shake that would be induction legal.

Re: Shakes??
You could use cream, but gotta remember you're limited to(quoted from the Acceptable Foods List)Cream, heavy or light (limit to two to three tablespoons a day; note carbohydrate content
But farther down in the Acceptable Foods List it saysSo...LOL, 1-3 ounces are allowed, depending on which paragraph of the Acceptable Foods List you refer to.an ounce of sour cream or three ounces of unsweetened heavy cream,
Personally, I stick to less than 1 ounce a day. Heavy cream is very calorically dense and I've seen quite a few people have issues with loss, cut it out, and then do fine. <shrug> YMMV.
You could, for example, make yourself a shake out of 1-2 ounces of heavy cream, some cream cheese, a couple packets of splenda and some protein powder (although some would debate the legality of protein powder) & ice. You'd have to count the cream cheese against your cheese intake, the cream against your cream limit, & the splenda against your 3 serving limit.
Ahh the joys of Induction!
That said, it's actually easier to make yourself a couple of eggs and sausage in the microwave. LOL

Just to clarify what Brook said about amounts of cream allowedOriginally posted by BrookYou could use cream, but gotta remember you're limited to (quoted from the Acceptable Foods List)

So...LOL, 1-3 ounces are allowed, depending on which paragraph of the Acceptable Foods List you refer to.
Acceptable Beverages
Cream, heavy or light (limit to two to three tablespoons a day; note carbohydrate content)
This is your daily 'allowance' - most people use it with their decaf coffee etc.
Special Category Foods. To add variety, each day you can also eat 10 to 20 olives, half a small avocado, an ounce of sour cream or three ounces of unsweetened heavy cream, as well as two to three tablespoons of lemon juice or lime juice. But be aware that these foods occasionally slow down weight loss in some people, and may need to be avoided in the first two weeks. If you seem to be losing slowly, moderate your intake of these foods
These are 'extras' that you can add if you are feeling a lack of variety - but not all at once - so you can add the olives or avocado or sour cream or the heavy cream.
But don't ignore the caveat of the last sentence - some people find they hinder weightloss!!Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: Shakes??
Aside from Keto brand - which has now been discontinued - Optimum Nutrition's Pro Complex mixes are the only ones I've come across that I truly love. Of course, this is for after Induction! I get mine from Netrition or Vitamin Shoppe, because I have found their prices to be among the most reasonable.
In the meantime, you could try making shakes using Induction-friendly ingredients like canned pumpkin, cream cheese (remember to limit cheeses to 4 ounces a day), Eggbeaters (pasteurized = safe for shakes), a bit of ground cinnamon, up to 2-3 tablespoons of heavy cream ... be creative! While cottage cheese is now not permitted on Induction, those who adhere to this old list allow it for themselves. I know this thread follows the newest Revolution book; just an FYI!Sheila, Founder of SugarFreeSheila.com

Re: Shakes??
I love meeting other Sheilas! Welcome to the board.
Tell me, do you find that almost everyone spells your name "Shelia" at first? (As if it were pronounced "Shel-EYE-uh"?) Drives me nuts. lol
One thing you could also do to extend your shakes even longer is to make them, then pour some into one of those kid-friendly popsicle kits. Keep it in the freezer for a 4-popsicle treat! A little bit goes a very long way.Sheila, Founder of SugarFreeSheila.com
