    Ughhh... have i screwed up?

I just realized that Ive eaten big ole piles of saurkraut for dinner (amoung other things) the past 2 nights and while cabbage is on the list, saurkraut isnt specifically... and i know im not suppose to eat anything not on the list...

the good news either way is that im still deep purple into ketosis...

    thanks,

Have no fear. You're okay. Just check the label on the can and tally your carbs up. It's cabbage, so you still have to watch the carbs. Other then that...eat and enjoy!

    Cabbage...the other white meat.

      Re: Saurkraut?

A cup of sauerkraut has approximately 2.5 carbs net

BTW, cabbage is a one cup-per-day vegetable on induction.

      I love sauerkraut!

LOL on 'the other white meat'

One cup is still only allowed on induction, and check the label to make sure it's only cabbage and vinegar!

Saurkraut is awesome. I love it on a couple of Johnsons beef franks for a nice quick and delicious meal that only nets about 5 carbs.

Love it also. I cook it with kilbasa. I find that its better drained and rinced first.

It's ONLY good in a pork roast, simmering in the juices.

Now there's an important notation to remember!

Thanks, Cleo....I was a goof not to give that part of the info.

Lisa-- you're not a goof! I still love your 'other white meat' comment. I'm keeping it filed in my brain or future use!

I think we need some eye tests for a few ADBB members. Open your DANDR paperback page 126 third veggie down on right side of other veggies is saurkraut.

just make sure you don't have bavarian kraut as most of that type has added sugar for a sweet and sour thingie.

                        You are so right, 2big!

Let's also add that Cleo had it right with the 1 cup a day on Induction with what Dr. A wrote, shall we? Now, lets turn to our books to page 126...got it? Now, let's read together:

You can have ONE cup per day if salad does not exceed two cups--these vegetables are slightly higher in carbohydrate content than the salad vegetables...
Yep....we're all right! Its so nice that we agree

I smell bacon and cabbage being fried together. Yum!!!
