    breakfast:
3 eggs (scrambled with 1 slice ham chopped into pieces cooked with eggs)
    used butter to cook eggs

    lunch: same thing

    snack: 2 slices swiss cheese

dinner: 2 cups lettuce, chicken grilled, with chopped peppers
added some butter to it (i hear to eat fat is important)

then at night leaf lettuce with slice of cheese and peppers

    drank 8 oz of water

am i doing anything wrong? and for my height and weight how much can i expect to lose?

    Re: How Much Exactly?

Hi, conni! Have you plugged those foods into fit day to see what the ratios are?

    You're shooting for a 65% protein, 35% fat, 5% carb ratio.

On the surface, it looks like you id really well!

As for the weight question, it realllllly depends on your metabolism, how strict you remain with this way of eating, whether you exercise, what health conditions you might be suffering from, the types of medications you might be taking, etc!

After your 2-week induction, there's a way to gauge your metabolism in the 2002 DANDR by the amount of weight you lose in the first 14 days. But it is a very general guide.

In short, there's no real way to tell, and only your physician would probably be able to accurately make that distinction!

Looks like you are off to a good start, Conni!
Just one suggestion in addition to Cleo's one of checking your ratios - try to spread your veggies through the day if you can to level off your insulin production.
Maybe have some mushrooms with your breakfast?
Also is that lettuce iceberg or one of the darker more nutritious varieties? Iceberg is basically chewy water - many of the other choices on the 2-3 cup list will give you better nutrition for your daily 'allowance' of veg.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

          Re: How Much Exactly?

you need to drink much more water i believe its eight 8 oz glasses and then an additional 8oz for every 25lbs you are overweight.....correct me if i'm wrong anyone
Returning to Atkins. I'm currently 196lbs, my goal is to lose 35lbs however long that may take.

I am a work in progress

            Re: How Much Exactly?

Also on fitday, it will count total carbs. We use 'net carbs' which you can easily figure out on fitday. Just subtract the grams of fibre from the total carb count.(I think there is a way to have it show net carbs, but it's easier for me to do it that way) And if you haven't gotten it already, pick yourself up the 2002 Edition of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution. It's the best tool out there for success!
