  • MAYO on Induction??...

hey Im new and just started atkins. this is my 5th day. I checked the ketostix an dit says im only a 'trace' in ketosis. How long does it usually take for me to go into ketosis?
also, im thnking of new meal ideas. I read in the book of acceptable foods and also read the chapters. It says nothing (that i found) about mayonaise but Im seeing people incorporate mayo in there food. So is mayo allowed or not? if so, how much?carbs?

    thanks guys!

Mayonnaise is made mostly of eggs, which is allowed on induction. Just note that a tablespoon isn't exactly 0 carbs (it ranges between .1 and .3), and be sure you don't go overboard on the stuff. Read the label and make certain there is no sneaky sugars in it (ie, stay away from Miracle Whip and cheap mayonnaise).

      Congratulations! You're in ketosis!

Here's the deal. Ketosis is like pregnancy. You either are in it, or you're not. There are no "degrees" of it. If your stick shows even a trace of color, you're in it.

The depth of the color, from light to dark, only reflects how hydrated your body is. If it's dark, you don't have a lot of water in your body. If it's light, you're pretty well hydrated. A lot of people register dark in the a.m. because they have been sleeping all night and not drinking water.

COLOR DOESN'T MATTER. You're in it, congratulations, and be prepared for the fat to start melting off that body of yours!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO! You're doing GREAT!!!!!!!!!!
