  • chewing gum?

    i am on day 3 ,and also second day of Tom. and i am going nuts i have never ever not had any sugar or bread in my whole life.i wanted to know if i could chew sugarless gum,i have lost weight before (lowfat diet)and i loved chewing gum it helps keep me from cheatind also i think iam addicted to gum ,it may sound stupid but i feel like a smoker who has gone cold turkey,its all i think about,and i feel nervouse when i think about it and my teeth hurt please help i need gum. also just thought i would metion that i now have the induction flu but i guess thats a good thing

    Sugarless gum generally contains sugar alcohols and is not carb-free. IT's between 1 and 2 carbs per stick, I think.

    You might try chewing a half of a stick once a day if you absolutely have to have gum. But try to cut back considerably.

    You are allowed to have a few sweet treats now and then, so get yourself some sugar free jello or make some of the recipes on the recipe forum if you want to give yourself something sweet occasionally.

      I chew the Orbits gum and count it as one serving of sweetner for the day. It worked last time, I lost 30 pounds. You could cut them in half if you need to have it more than once a day.

        I've always been a fan of cinnamon gum, so I buy Altoids sugar-free cinnamon chewing gum. It comes in a nifty tin and is not made with aspartame. It has a super strong cinnamon flavor, and best of all, one serving is TWO pieces...so I only chew one piece...
