  • Question about Bok Choy. . .

    Greetings All !

I was wondering if anyone here ate Bok Choy ? Does it taste decent ? And any clue on how to prepare it ? I keep looking at it . . I don't even know which end I am suppose to eat ! LoL. Or do you eat all of it ? I dont get it.

I started Induction 9/15/05 and I am pretty pleased with the results so far.
I have been hanging around in the shadows for the last year watching everyone. I am proud to be part of you. It's time to get healthy and be happy.

Thank you for any info on the Bok Choy ! !

I love Bok Choy! Simply cook it or sautee it like you would brocolli, spinach (but longer).

I use a fry pan or a wok... add oil, garlic, ginger and a little no carb soy sauce... Kikoman? sometimes add water if it is dry....

mmm.. I sometimes make a chinese food stirfry... add other veg.. celery, onions, mushrooms, and something else.. can't remember.. bamboo shoots?

What I usually do is cut the end off and discard then slice it up, seperating the white parts and the green parts. I'll throw the white parts into the stirfry first, then the green as they take less time to cook. Slice the white like you'd slice up celery, or you can cut it in larger chunks as well, but I like it in the celery slices better.
Bok choy is also good cooked with other veggies in chicken broth...add some cooked chicken, a splash of soy sauce and a few drops of sesame oil for a good chinese style soup!

The second link has a nutrition chart as well.

The baby bok choy, I will steam those whole and they look so nice and pretty on the plate when you serve dinner.
