    Re: nothing

Not unusual at all! Sit tight and wait it out. I lost alot my first week in Induction and very little the second. Your body is adjusting to all the changes you have thrown at it!
Also, if you post your start weight/current weight.... it is easier for all to know how you are doing!

Hi, Carol! Maybe you could post a typical day's menu for us to critique in accordance with the Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution book? Who knows, it may take the easiest, tiniest little tweak to get things in order.

            Re: nothing

Caz..think of it like this...the first week you lost 5 pounds...most of which was water...the second week...you got some of your body water back but lost mostly fat. So while the scale stayed the same your body fat % is actually lower. So that means that you have actually lose 5 pounds of fat. Anyway....that is my story and I am sticking to it!!

                Hey Caz,

                Hang in there!

Just a thought - If you didnt lose any lb's - did you take your measurements to see if you have lost inches?

                    Re: nothing

One thing I see with your menu is that you are having fruit for lunch? Fruit is not allowed on Induction. As well, it doesn't seem like you are eating enough.

Caz - you are not following the rules for induction! NO FRUIT! And you need to eat more fat!!!!!

If you haven't read DANDR, do so now, it's really essential to know what you are supposed to be eating and how to do induction.

                        Re: nothing

I could be wrong on the conversion, but if that's 147 pounds now at 142 then you really are doing well. How tall are you and what is your goal weight?

As the others said, a pause on the scale is very normal. Take your measurements also and don't give up because of pauses. This is a change in your way of eating for your health and long term weight control, not just a quick fix to lose weight and go back to eating as you used to.

No fruit should be added until the proper rungs of OWL. Are you making the tuna salad yourself? (if made by others it might have hidden sugar) And have you read the book? Congrats on your progress so far! Some people actually don't show a loss on the scale for a month or more but then do have grand long term success.

                          Hi Caz,

Do as they say above - read the book, eat more fat and drop the fruit. I bet you'll see immediate results just from doing the last two. I'm in my second week of reinduction and I'm in the same boat as you. Lost 5 pounds the first week and this week I gained 1/2 pound!!! I'm pretty sure it's because I've been working out more. I lost 15 pounds the first time around. I didn't lose in the second and third week but then it started coming off. Read Moochiecat's most excellent sticky and hang in there! 5 pounds off is great!

At 5 foot 2, and dropping 5lbs from 147 to 142 in two weeks, I'd say you're doing JUST FINE!! I'm not sure what your goal weight is, but if it's anything less than 50lbs (and it better be or we'll thwap ya! ) - you're blowing the 5-10% out of the water!

Yep. Ditch the fruit and climb the rungs like you're supposed to You'll do just fine.
