Re: I need gum!
I am pretty sure that gum is not on the induction acceptable food list. I really urge you to commit yourself to a clean induction for 2 weeks. You are worth dedicating that amount of time to yourself and your health. See what I am saying?? Not to give up gum forever...but just for 2 weeks...of course by the time you complete a clean 2 week induction I am hoping you will find out that you don't 'need' it as much as you thought. But if you do then you can add it back in after the 2 weeks and see what it does to your body. JMOElsie150

Re: I need gum!
The comments have forced me to reflection. I suppose my word choice of "needing" gum was incorrect. It is just a habit for me- keeps me from chewing my nails, eating, or fidgeting in other ways. Plus it keeps my breath fresh, as I work closely with my high school students. I will try to do without. Thanks. I am really new to this lifestyle.Nickel327

Re: I need gum!
I think I read that the act of chewing can cause some people to have an insulin spike as the body prepares itself to process food.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: I need gum!
i would recommend you to have any other low carb snack ,than waisting your two carbs on chewing gum,why not boiled eggs..i used to use chewing gum as a hunger suppresent when i wasnt on atkins...because i had an eating disorder ,and gum saved me on cravings, but it is not a case with u...i would reccomen any foodespacially veggies

Re: I need gum!
I love chewing gum.
Good point as I agreed with, but I had to have something and went ahead and got myself some sugarless gum.
I'm chewing on a full stomach, so hopefully no spike will occur.
I'm counting the carbs =)

Re: I need gum!
Not sure how the general public feels regarding gum...but ORBIT has put out a brand new bubble gum sugarless, I have been chewing when needed, have continued to loose inches in the last few weeks....Hope this doesn't offend the die hard 'no gum' crowd. I am no way making a scientific statement, just sharing my own experience, thus far...Did go through a stall but feel it is more the backing off of water issue than anything else. But do what works..... so glad to hear what ttdriver had to say,,,,and she looks terrific! islandmoments
