Hey guys, this is supposed to be my fifth day on induction, but on Tuesday i went out with my friends and cheated
. Therefore i started again yesterday (wednesday) and i did well. But today i was doing good and then dinner came and again i cheated. I just can't seem to last longer than two days. Has this happened to anyone before? How long did it take you guys to complete the full two weeks without cheating? Because now i feel as though i will never get through the whole two weeks.

Re: Cheating
Me too, sister! I've been on induction (modified slightly - I have to say this because I choose to incorporate one 4g serving of LC ice cream, otherwise it's by the book) for 10 days without cheating. The difference? This time, I've come to know that I cannot ever have my favorite foods again - not an option, so I'm accepting that I have to actually change - forever - to get where I want to go and stay there. I've come to know that after lurking around in different posts of people that have lost over 100lbs. It really has helped to keep me focused.27 F 5' 7"

Re: Cheating
What kind of foods are you 'cheating' with? Perhaps you can take those foods out of the house to avoid the temptation while you get through your induction. It does get easier to avoid temptaion after the first two weeks. There's alot of foods that i missed in the beginning (like potatoes) that i don't have any desire to eat anymore. If it's while you are at restaurants, maybe you can avoid eating out for a couple of weeks, or make sure that you ask for substitues for potatoes, breads etc. Most restaurants are more than accomodating.Originally posted by mira_g89Hey guys, this is supposed to be my fifth day on induction, but on Tuesday i went out with my friends and cheated

Re: Cheating
I know for myself, its very hard to resist temptation, its ALWAYS there!!! I know when we go out to restaurants most places always have steak or chicken and salads, those are legal....Cept applebees steaks they inject those things with SUGAR, pure SUGAR!!!! Its really hard, but now carry a FAT picture of me in my wallet, I have pictures of myself that I dispise on my Fridge, and when I lose a couple pounds (the last time I did this) was down to 199, took a picture of the scale showing it, 189, took another picture of the scale... Those were huge motivaters.
I dont ever say I will NEVER be able to eat my favorite foods again...... Pizza is my downfall, I just say, By the time I am allowed, because you are allowed going through the rungs to eventually add ALL food in... I will know what my limits are and know moderation. You will always be able to eventually eat your favorite foods again, but im sure it will be 1 or 2 slices of pizza instead of 4 or 5.......Or one cup of your favorite icecream instead of a King Kong Bowl.... Ive restarted this WOE a billion times now, and each time I kick myself in the butt, because by now I would be at goal. Each time though I have had the folks on ADBB to keep me on track, and we will help you stay on track!

Re: Cheating
Mira - you dont actually need to start counting from the beginning if you do slip - as long as you go straight back to lowcarb eating and dont get pulled into a few days of bingeing on carbs after a cheat/mistake.Originally posted by mira_g89Hey guys, this is supposed to be my fifth day on induction, but on Tuesday i went out with my friends and cheated

It really is your 5th day today. Just try your best to stay on plan for the next 9 days.
and then decide if you want to continue with induction for a while or start introducing more vegetables on OWL rung one.
You have been given good advice from the others about getting rid of non-induction foods in your house and not visiting restaurants that have no induction-legal choices for a few weeks till you are more able to resist temptation.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: Cheating
That is exactly what I have been going thru off and on and off again etc... I lost 10 pounds that way but then the craving won and last week and the week before I went so off and was craving sweets and then nothing tasted good when I ate it anyway so why bother. And guess what I gained most of the 10 pounds back. Some of it for me is PMS and I need to find a suppliment that will help that so maybe by the time it rolls around next month it doesn't kick my butt. Finally though I have been on induction for 7 days no cheats and I'm feeling good. I just had to set my mind to it, be prepared with the right foods, and keep telling myself NO!!!!! I am not going to blow this and you can't make me. I have had a Carbwell chocolate peanut bar in my desk all week and I haven't entertained the thought for more than a second of eating it. It's not on induction and NO I am not going to eat it and you can't make me. LOL And I'm not going to change my signature current weight because by the time I do another week of induction I plan to lower it not raise it.Cheryl

Re: Cheating
you can do it hun. my first day of induction was 3 days ago and then a friend called me and invited me to his birthday at a bar....
anyways to say the least i went off on my first day! so i am back on today and STAYING on. my dad is going to do the diet with me even though he lives 2 hours away. its still nice to know he's doing it though. also i know everyone here goes through the same thing and same temptations. we can do this. i did it before i can do it again! keep reading the book and keep motivated. go through some of the before and after pics. those are always great to look at. i find when i want to cheat or have cheated i try and avoid coming to this site because i feel guilty. but coming here always gets me right back no track. good luck!!!
