  • Question

I been around this diet off and on for a long time. i was curious though, its my second day on induction diet and i am VERY sick to my stomach. This happend to me last time i tried induction and i had to go off because it got so bad. i was only 3 days into it. so i am curious if this is a normal part of induction and its just new symptoms for me.... or if other people exerience this? The thought of a piece of meat makes me sick also cheese or eggs. all i can eat are the veggies.... and im only allowed a certain amount of those i know. and beleive me i have cooked every which way all those foods and still.... im so sick. im just hoping this will only last for the first part of induction. if not i dont know how im going to be able to do this. any input??

    Re: Question

sorry to hear you are feeling this way.

What are you eating, Rissa? Maybe someone who has had similar experiences can suggest some different foods that they could eat in the same case.

Could you manage the foods if processed into a puree and turned into soup?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

      Re: Question

well i have been eating some grilled chicken and some hamburger meat made a couple different ways... but today i could barely eat that so i just ate some broccoli a couple tomatoes and a small salad with a piece of chicken. hopefully when i wake up it will be better. we'll see.

hmmm turned into a soup. yeah perhaps, that sounds good. i wouldnt know where to begin haha.

        Re: Question

        miss rissa,
im on induction for the second time too (about 2.5 days in) and my induction 'flu was extraordinarily bad yesterday. i felt nauseous and the idea of meat and the texture made me want to yak. ive laid of the meaty meats today (ive eaten fish today) which i find easier on the stomach at the moment. ive only eaten cheese and veggies today, with a heap of fish and prawns, only because its as creative as i could get. im sure it will pass. im feeling a lot better than i did yesterday. ive found that if i keep active, as much as i dont want to or feel like it, helps. the moment i sit down and relax i start feeling a lot worse. im going to ride it out, even if it kills me. ive heard induction 'flu can be worse the second/third/fiftieth time around so im keeping that in mind. i remember how good i felt last time towards the end of induction and thats what is keeping me going. also, are you taking your vitamins? ive notices my supplement gives me a bit of a pick-me-up which helps. sorry to hear youre unwell sweetness, but if its comforting any, im right here with you, feeling just as crappy.
        love to you.

          Re: Question

Induction flu hits, I'd say, most of us!

It leads to symptoms from a little bit of lethargy to out and out nausea.

          It will pass!

            Re: Question

            Rissa,

I am a little over one month in and I had the induction flu for a week; my husband was on a business trip that week so he did not have to endure the mood swings thank goodness. When I felt like I would barf if I ate meat, I swtiched over to a little cheese. Once I kept that down, I ate some chicken cut up very small, and ate broccoli with it. I tasted the broccoli and not the chicken. I just ate slowly and drank tons of water to wash it away. You can do it if I can cause I am a wuss. Stick with it.

Could you post for us a few days worth of your menues: meals and snacks. Include amounts too. For example, chicken 3 ounces, etc.

Easy peasy to do if you have a food processor - just cook whatever food till soft and then tip it all in together and zap it until it is a sort of sludge (gosh that sounds appetising doesnt it!!) or puree as the French would call it!!.

Then heat it up again add some seasoning and voila - soup de jour!!

If you dont have a processor then mash the cooked veggies and cut the cooked meat up into small shreds and do the same.

You may have to add water or cream to make it more liquid depending on what veggies you use.

Well-cooked Brocolli or cauliflower plus some spring onions (green onions) make a good 'base' to add other stuff to.

I often combine leftovers from several meals like this to make a meal.
