  • Exercice...Before or After???

    Hey Guys,
    I have a question... im confused, should i start working out before or after i eat dinner?! Which will be better for me! Ive had people saying both ways work!!! What should i do! Please point me the right way! thank you so much!!!!!!

    Well, "people" are right. Both will work. I'd boil it down much more simply though. What works (FEELS) better to you?

    Personally, I work out on an empty stomach. I don't like the way I feel when I have something in my belly. Based on things I've read, I believe it to be healthier and give a bigger metabolic advantage- heating up the oven before tossing something in, if you will.

    Experiment a bit and do what works best for you. If you feel better working out an hour or two after you eat, then do that. If you feel better doing it an hour or two before you eat, then do that! It doesn't have to be hard or complicated

    General rule of thumb for success: If it requires a degree in chemical engineering to pronounce it, you probably shouldn't eat it.

      I'm the same as Brook and generally work out before - although in my case its because otherwise I start making excuses not to do it at all

        What has worked for me in the past is working out first thing in the morning, and this meant getting up earlier but at least the exercise was over and i could get on with my day. and i also didn't eat for an hour after my workout for maximum fat burning.
        now i dont get up first thing and do it but because of my schedule i get to the gym at around 10:30, so i am up at 6:30 have my first meal and by the time i get to the gym my stomach is empty- and i still don't eat for an hour after.
        i personally think it is better to exercise on an empty stomach.
        i also drink a litre (4 cups) of water first thing.

          I just do what works for me time wise, I dont have time during the day so I always excersize before bed. It relaxes me and helps me get a good night sleep. You have to figure out the best time for YOU. If the morning works, great...it its later than thats great too as long as you get it in your body will thank you for it!! Good luck to you.

            yep whatever feels best for you

            remember Atkineers are fat burners not carb buners so you don't ever need to load carbs before a workout to energize your body.

              I exercise on an empty stomach because if I don't, I feel like I'm going to vomit. I also exercise the first thing in the morning. Why? Because exercise increases your heart rate, which means more blood is pumped to your brain, which means my brain "wakes up" (no need for caffeine. Also, I exercise first thing in the morning so I don't have to worry about "making time" in the evenings when I'm exhausted from my job.....

                i like to excersize before dinner. It increases your metabolism for a few hours after and so when you eat dinner its hard at work. plus i dont like to work out on a full stomach.

                  For me, I've been exercising during my lunch break. I take a class (aerobics or cycling) for 1 hour a day (Mon-Fri). This is the only time I've made for working out. I commute to work ( no time in morning ) and by the time I get home, there is no way I'm exercising! lol
                  Don't worry, I still eat a lunch, just not during my lunch hour, weird...

                    If you have the option, I always exercise after dinner. It not only stops me from sitting on the couch and watching tele, but it keeps me from snacking! I walk on the treadmill and watch tv. Afterwards, I hit the shower and then bed! I sleep better at night because of it, too. Just my personal experience! Good luck in whatever you decide to do!

                      I like to exercise BEFORE dinner. Reason being my trainer always says exercise makes you hungry. If youve ever noticed, you only walk 20 minutes one day, but an hour the next... The day you walk an hour you will feel yourself more hungry! So eating dinner after a workout is good, because if you workout after a dinner, your more likely to snack on things. Atleast that is what hes been telling me.

It makes sense to do it that way! i might just try that for a week see how it works and try the opposite for another week and see which is better for me! THANK YOU SO MUCH !                           Hey Guys... thank you all for your support ! That helped me so much! I think i might work out before dinner.... cause then when i get home i can eat whatever my stomach takes, take a shower watch some tv and then its time to sleep!                               yeah thats me in my aviator!!! Thank you I dont think so thats why im hoping that once i get this weight off it will change the way i feel about myself! I just came back from the gym and now im gonna snack! I like working out before eating.... im not as hungry! 45 mins and a whole bottle of water does it for me hehe well its off to the shower... talk to you later girlie,
