  • so far, so good!

So I am on day four- almost at the end of it and all is going well! I haven't cheated, haven't really had any cravings, I am able to say no and a true test today was making cupcakes for my daughters halloween party tomorrow- wasn't tempted what so ever! So I have to say I am pretty proud of myself, even if it is only 4 days.
Now the true test will be this week end. we are going to Berlin for a few days, so I can accept the fact that the things available may not be 100% induction approved but i can promise to do my best (i think that is the brownie pledge)
I am not going to carb out- i may have a beer or two but i will choose my meals as best i can even though we will probably be in restaurants for the most part.
I still have one cup of coffee in the a.m.- i figured for the sanity of my family i would start with the carb elimination this week then work up to the caffine- baby steps.
we are going to the canary islands for christmas so this is my inspiration, but i don't want to sound like an a$$ but i was expecting to have more of a difficult time with the carb elimination and so far i am ok. but obviously it is not going to be smooth sailing on the whole atkins ride--i am sure once i get a good wiff of german chocolate i may actually have a break down!!

pipee-- I am so glad you are having a good go at it! You know, you might have had an easier time because you admit that you've been eating whole foods for a long time. To you, this way of eating might not be that much of a stretch! I think it is so wonderful that you have so many exciting and interesting countries so close to you that you can go and see them!

Thanks ladies, but i have to say that checking out the profiles on this board is very inspirational, truly, i mean cleochatra 106 lbs, that is amazing- i don't know how many times i can even say it!! and shashlee, you are well on your way also!
but this program is one of those things that you can easily fall off of- i think anyway. there is so much crap that passes for food that is constantly being thrown at us that it is so much easier to eat bad food, the results are in the staggering statistics for obesity in north america, so i think everytime we make a good choice in our eating it is one step closer to better health, so good eating to all!!

          Shashee,

I so hear you on the pizza craving. The whole "sweets" thing does not bother me, but the pizza--man I would love some. Maybe we will never get over it, but will have to learn to eat the toppings and let the crust stay in the pan.

            Pipee,

It is super easy to be fat that is for sure. The crap that fast-food places pass off as food is horrible. Not to mention, that is seems most of us were not taught how to properly eat as children. I feel like I am very powerful every day I do not eat the garbage. It is very empowering to know I do have power over what I put in my mouth!
