  • It is time!!

    Hello, I have tried to start this WOE in the past and did not follow through. I cheated and then cheated again so on and so on until I just quit. However, my sons birthday was this weekend (4 years old) and it took a great deal of effort just to sit on the floor and help him with his presents. I can't believe I let myself get to that point.

    My coworkers and I have started a weight loss challenge. We are going to put $15.00 in a hat each and at the end of 3 months the biggest loser will get the money.

    I have complete faith in Atkins and with my sons birthday party modivation, I feel I can give all of them a run for their money. I have to do this or I will not live to see my kids grow up. (son 4) daughter 2.

    I have made a personal challenge to myself to post every Tuesday from now until my goal, to let all of you know how I am doing. Also, I hope posting instead of lurking will motivate me not to cheat.

    Glad you are no longer lurking. I think that posting everyday in a journal (they are down the board) will really help you keep motived too. Make a list of the goals and mini-goals you have for yourself and focus on them. You can do it because this WOE is a positive for you and your family. Have faith, read the book, slug down water, exercise and you will succeed. Welcome!

      Thank you so much for your suggestions. I will look into the journal right now. I did not even think about it.

      Can you tell me where to key in the information that I want to appear on each post. ie: weight, goal weight, ticker, etc.

        Sure, that is an easy question even a newbie like me can answer for you. Look up and you will see UserCP. Click on that and then on edit signature and you can add in the stuff you want. If you want a ticker to show your progress go to www.tickerfactory.com. Good luck!

              Thanks for all of your advice. I am now into day two. I have noticed that the worst cravings come right before lunch. I have been eating grilled chicken tenders to combat this.

              I will NOT get on the scale until Monday. ( I have to keep telling myself this!)

                make sure you are having some fat with that chicken Atkins is a high fat ketogenic plan 65% ofour total cals should be fats.

                Also when you are doingyour figuring of who won make sure they include some measure of inches of fat lost since you will add a few pounds of lean body muscle mass to your frame as you shrink sizes shedding fat mass while the scale doesn't give n accurate picture of your total body change.

                  Thanks, You know inched might be a more fair anyway of finding the winner of our contest. Someone that weighs 222 pounds and needs to loose 82 such as myself will probably loose more than say someone that has 25 pounds to loose total.

                  I decided to not have the chicken last night and go with a salad with bro.

                    Welcome. If you don't have the book..go and buy it..it is worth every penny! Do induction with no cheats and you will do great!
                    Have a protein with your salad. And use www.fitday.com to help you. Also read all the stickies in this forum....great advice in them.
