Hi there! I'm sorry you've been not feeling so well. If I had a nickel for everytime I quit due to induction flu because I had no idea what it was, I'd have at least 5 nickels!

It's really good to give up caffeine because it tends to stimulate appetite. I'm glad you like fitday. It's really a lifesaver isn't it? I'm so glad you checked in! I was wondering how you were, but didn't want to be nosy.

Can't help you on the coffee thing...I cut out everything for induction. That way when I add it back in I will have a better idea of what it does to my body. Anyway...hope the 'flu' passes quickly for you!

          Korky,

The induction flu lasts differently for each person. Mine was a week long, but I was into carbs totally (coming off low-fat). However, my husband only had the flu for three days. It all depends on the person. I can't help on the coffee as I hate the stuff, but you will figure out what your body needs.

            Question for the Brits

I have a question for the Brits around. I was watching a movie last night and the girl said she was feeling "peckish". What does that mean? Alos, are "cuddles" and "hugs" the same thing. On Nanny 911, JoJo says cuddles all the time.

Hi Chubby ( but you won't be chubby for long)
The symptoms you are feeling will pass,(Induction flu). Hang in there and in a few days you will be over this and be on your way to feeling in control and on your way to a healthier, happier, and slimmer life.
What is ahead of you will feel like a miracle come true. Life is wonderful eating the Atkins way.
                The best to you.
                Welcome aboard!

                  Korky,

Thanks so much for the help. I think I shall start saying I am peckish...it sounds daintier.

The way I figured it with giving up caffienated coffee was that I can either go half-caf for a while and drag the whole thing out over a few weeks while I weaned myself into full decaf.....or I could just drop it, get the whole Induction Flu thing over, and be done with it forever.
No, it wasn't a fun week and a half...I felt horrible...but it was worth every body ache, head ache, you name it...it was worth it!

Welcome Korky. Good luck to you on your Atkins journey. The longer you stick to it, the better you will feel.

Now it was my understanding the term "peckish" meant feeling slightly ill or off your food. ???

As for me, I never had the flu. I did have however, a froggie in the throat. It went away after awhile.
