Is there a way to stay on strict induction with an ulcer? I have had to add things like low carb ice cream and tums to deal with the burning. Meats seem especially painful to eat. I am prilosec, but that doesn't seem to help.

has your doc treated you with antibiotics for the h pylori bacteria that causes ulcers? once those are cured up you should be fine.by the book atkinseer

Re: Ulcers and induction
Maybe some chilled cream cheese sweetened with splenda might do the same trick as the ice cream?Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Re: Ulcers and induction
ugh keeps coming back ouch. What did your doc reccomend for the reinfections?
are you being very careful cleaning your veggies with your induction acceptable foods? Lots of folk pick it up at salad bars.
Do you have a trigger food list for you? Is it the meat, the spices used to cook itor the amount of fat in it that triggers your acid?
if it is the fat then cream cheese will just make it worse not better.by the book atkinseer

Re: Ulcers and induction
Actually, I know it sounds stupid, but I got discouraged and didn't go back to the doc. It seems to be the meat itself, not the seasoning. I don't like fatty greasy foods, so I don't eat much fat on meat. The fat in the ice cream seems to coat it and make it better temporarily, and the coldness helps too. I will try the cream cheese, but isn't cheese limited to 4 oz per day?

Re: Ulcers and induction
yep cheese is limited.
Go see your doc cause they have done some studies that show that this can lead to cancer down the road when not treated. a very simple breath test can tell if you still have it and need antibiotics or not.by the book atkinseer
