Re: Where is that weight loss coming from?

    still waiting for those studies
As far as that's concerned, I haven't been able to find any to support my stand. It is possible to have some gain in muscle without a lot of exercise, but nothing substantial. I did find a study that said mice gained some/kept muscle without exercise on a high fat diet, but then again, these were genetically altered. And to quote " But for now the technology is limited to producing mightier mice." There are no "magic" foods. Well, till now atleast.

Humans *are* animals. That aside, if you find basing evidence of how animals react on various studies stupid comparisons I'd be loathe to take meds, vitamins, minerals or anything else were I in your shoes. Those studies started out on the animals you think it's stupid to base evidence on.
Oh, is that right? Then fido here should live to a good average -human- age, shouldn't he? Is that why he can have distemper and I can't. We're the same, but still very different. What affects an animal, may not affect another kind or human and vice-versa. Similarly, foods, bodily fuctions, etc. differ from specie to specie. Metabolism, heart rate, immunity, and several other factors. Not only is it cruel, but I do find it quite retarded to completely base facts/evidence on animals that aren't the same species.

As for your quick 6lbs, almost all macronutrient restrictions (diets in whatever form) produce a diuretic effect, as Sheila pointed out. You've experienced this. Studies I've read talk about the body canabolizing no more than 1-3oz of muscle tissue a day for energy conversions in an "emergency" state - so even if you were losing muscle mass, which I find *extremely* doubtful in a 2700 calorie a day feed, you'd be looking at a max of 2.6lbs over a period of 14 days. I find that highly improbable, and it has certainly not been my own personal experience or the experience of low-carbers I know (and I know a *lot* of these buggers ).
You got that right. Checking the past few days, I was up 6 pounds, and now down a pound again. I'm not going to base anything on the scale. That thing's been acting crazy. Anyway, thanks for your input.

here is the UConn test results on the 3rd page second paragragh left had column. http://www.ccjm.org/pdffiles/Volek1102.pdf as you can see they very accurately measure body mass changes and were very surprized that lean body tissue increased in humans without any change in physical activity.

Gotta say, I'm surprised. Well, point well proven and taken.

Wait a minute..did you just try to use a study on MICE and then get snarky about my comment about animals? LOLOL

Please, quote where I said ANYTHING about "completely base facts/evidence" on animal studies and then we'll have something to talk about

It seems to me that you've been cut off at the pass with your various hypothesis several times. I think it's fabulous to think outside the box, but I also think it's possible to debate or make points without snark - especially when you're trying to play both sides of the animal study fence

          Continued success.
