  • My first day!

Well, today will be my first day that I will be starting Atkin's Induction. I already have done this two times previously, so I think I know exactly where I am going to start. It's 5 in the morning, meaning, I am not going to eat anything yet, but I will once I wake up again, which will be after I get some sleep. At that point, I will be eating some type of meat with cheese and some cucumber slices to top it off as desert. <3 And of course, I will attempt to drink 10 glasses of water by the end of the day, but if I don't make it to ten, I will at least do 8 glasses of water. Well, wish me luck and if anyone is starting today as well, I think we should be buddies, it would be fun and motivational. Just let me know!!! ^_^ (Back to bed I go!!)

    Re: My first day!

Esteliana, good luck on your induction! Stay with a complete clean induction (no cheating, no frankenfoods, lots of water, and eat your vegetables!). All of us on this board are here to support you! If you need any help along the way, there are a lot of great folks here who have been through all of this before you and can answer all of your questions, let you cry on our shoulders, and celebrate your victories with you! Focus on yourself during Induction and you can do this WOE and change your life.

    Good luck!!!

Hey, thanks for the advice, I really appreciate what everyone is doing around here. I don't know why I just stopped coming here. You guys are just so motivational and you make me happy being who I am and help me through all those stressful times. Today has been really good. I have been following the program down to the miniscule dot in the book! <3 I have 2/3rds of my water already drunk and my meals are exactly how they're supposed to be. I normally keep it to one cup of veggies per meal and then a really good savoury meat that I will enjoy with the salad. It's going to be fun and it's going to be hard, but I know this time around I can do it!!

And as I said before, I will not weigh myself until December 27th! <3

So how did your first day go?

It really helps to stay focused and on-track if you post here every day and know that you don't want to cheat because people are looking to cheer you on!

Hello Esteliana, I'm starting again too! I know how it feels to start over again, but learning from mistakes makes us do things better the second ( or third or fourth!) time around.

I'd be glad to be your buddy And i agree that the people on the ADBB forum are very motivating and encouraging.... you know when i fell off the atkins wagon i was actually ashamed to browse the site because i felt so bad about myself reading about how other people could stick to it.

But after awhile it went away, feelings are just feelings, after all and i motivated myself again.

My main motivation is that i want my energy back, my zest that just gets sucked away leaving nothing when i eat the unsuitable thing. I hate being lethargic , i know it isnt normal for my age.

Anyway, good luck, lets keep an eye out for each other !

The people here are so awesome! I absolutely agree! There is so much support and advice here. It makes this way of eating seem like such a team effort. Welcome!

Also, stick with your plan about not weighing! That is very important. If you don't lose as quickly or as much as you hope, the results can be hard on your enthusiasm. Just stick it out and wait. Trust me!
            149.8/no weigh/ 119

            1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
what the rungs mean to me:
            rung 1 - more veggies
rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
            rung 4 - berries, melon
            rung 5 - wine -
            rung 6 - beans, hummus
            rung 7 - other fruits
rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
            Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
            (on to pre-maintenance)

              Re: My first day!

You guys rock!!! Today is going to be my forth day staying on this way of life and I think I am doing really good! My tummy feels way smaller, which is what I had hoped for in the first place because it's mainly the only thing that makes me feel uncomfortable right now. I had so much chicken yesterday. I know I should have red meat, too, but my parents haven't cooked any in a while and I have to buy my own food that I need because my mom is doing Souoth Beach and I think my dad is doing Atkins. (Doesn't seem like it, though, he's kind of a hypocrite when it comes to things.) And I haven't seen any of the food that I need to eat in order to survive on this, so I think I should suggest to my mom to cook more meat with less sauce for me. (I can only use so much money.)

So, today, I have to work 10-7 and I might go to a friend's party tonight, before I go, I think I should eat something that will keep me full so I won't fall into any temptations, not that I need any sugar or carby stuff of some sort now. They both seem to gross me out at the moment and I know if I eat them I will get fatter.

I'm cheering everyone else on and I am cheering my slef on! Let's keep at it! wOOt!

                  Good planning, Estaliana
Looks as if you are well on your way
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

                    Re: My first day!

Well, since the mom thinks I am TOO old to have younger friends, I wasn't allowed to go. So I am stuck in my house all depressed like. -sighs- It's like, I am not allowed to have friends or something. I mean, I am sorry that all my friends are younger than me. I can't help that. I just can't make friends with people who are older than me in real life. I don't know, I'm depressed. :-( I ate everything like I was supposed to, so don't worry, I didn't cheat.

Don't beat yourselves up over falling off the wagon... we are all human. The really great thing is that you are both back again, and stronger for the experience. Now you have more knowlegeable of the pitfalls and that can only be helpful. Hang in there...You both rock!

Yay!! I get to experience double the pain today! So that means, I have to take double dosages of Ibuprofen, (two tablets instead of one, wOOt) Unsuspectedly, Uncle TOM decided to show up and haunt me at this lovely time of year. At least I won't have to be in pain once Christmas/Chanukah rolls around. And that means, I will be dropping a bit more water weight than usual, right? Can't wait till the 27th when I get to weigh myself.

And my reward for not weighing myself, you ask? DISNEYLAND!! YAY!!! Lol. And finding out how much I have lost, as well, I am pretty sure it will all excite you too.
