  • Question?? Is this normal?

OK ok, I know this has been posted before somewhere.....

I've lost about six pounds so far on Induction (now on day 9). According to the scale, I haven't lost anymore, but I feel SMALLER. Is this right? Is it just my imagination?

Also, thyroid problems run amuck in my family. Could the untreated thyroid be the cause? I had this problem the last time, and I eventually quit.

    Regardless, I feel thinner.

It's very common to lose inches without loses lbs. You're doing great. 6 lbs in 9 days is great! Woo hoo for you.

Yep, Wanna is right and it often happens after induction. Stay off the scales for awhile as it doesn't help to be frustrated. Scales are evil you know

I believe the feelings of thinness also coincide with the diuretic nature of this way of eating. When we're bloated we feel pretty manky!

            What they all said . . .
plus - did you take measurements before starting induction?
If not then make sure you do it now so you can see yourself shrinking even when the scales say you are not losing weight
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I would try to avoid the scales at least until you are done with your two week inductions.

But yes, it is very possible to lose alot of inches and no lbs...I think there is a member on this board who can recall it happening.

                Re: Question?? Is this normal?

YAY!! My friendly monthly visitor came today, and the scale dropped slightly. I had thought that maybe that had something to do with the perceived "stall". I've lost A LOT of inches on my thighs and around the mid-section.

                YIPPEE!!

My neice is losing weight as well, and she is doing the "take a break on diet until after the holidays" mindtrap, whereas I don't have a single craving for sugar or bread. I will not talk myself into that. This is awesome, and honestly, really easy!!!

So.....that's two weeks of Induction, but I think I will stick it out another two weeks extended.

                  Re: Question?? Is this normal?

Atkins does wonders, especially induction. Last year when I started, I lost 9.3 pounds in one week, and then 4 pounds every week for 3 weeks, and then it slowed to 2 pounds a week. (I lost a lot of inches at that time and I was so happy. lol Of course, I did an extended induction because I liked the results and it was not hard for me to maintain that WOE.
