  • Somebody help out a lil here...I don't know what I did...

    I wanted to drink tea after my breakfast: 3 small fried chicken pieces that were really juicy on th inside and made me wonder if they added lemon juice to it....I already asked them if they put flower to fry the chicken (Publix) and they said no. Were they lying? Because the fried chicken taste so good and spicy. What do you guys think...

    Its not a big deal to me, when I was on Atkins in spring of '04, I had these same wings and lost, one week i ate them for breakfast straight, and lost 5 pounds. The big deal is back to the tea...It was "Awake"...AKA, Black Tea....It tasted horrible...but I thought there were no carbs in it. After I drank almost all of it, later i felt so weird...I called my mom and told her, and she knows Atkins (she read the book and we're doing this together) and she freaked out. She said, "No, no...that stuff is stronger than coffee...it has very high caffeine in it..."

    I drank a lot of water and feel fine now. I'm not even hungry and its been 4 hours since breakfast. But if I remember correctly caffeine is a no-no on Atkins....Does it slows down weight loss or something?

    Caffeine is not reccomended because it will mess with your blood sugars. Although I know some still have their cup o joe every morning it is best to eliminate caffeine from your diet for optimal results.

    After weaning myself off the stuff I cant indulge as it gives me the shakes and I get nauseas an hour or so later.

    Drinking water never hurts and may help to flush that dose of caffeine out of your system. Stick to the herbal teas if you want to drink tea.

        you should be able to tell what is in the wings from the ingredients lists that they have to have. some poultry is injected with fluids to make it juicier and the fluids can have salts and or sugars in them.

        The caffeine is an insulin stimulator and that can mess your blood sugars giving you cravings and it is a fat storing hormone too.

        All teas have some carbs in them so make sure you count your carbs in everything going in your mouth and know if something is legal before you put it in your mouth. It is too late afterwards to call your mother or come here cause the damage from it is already done.

        glad you ddin't go on a carby binge as a result of your lesson learned the hard way.

          Well Yes, I've learned my lessson urrr..yeah. But I did go on a carb binge after that black tea thing. Sorry. I will pick myself up tommorrow.....Atleast I know not to drink any black tea again. I think that is what made me feel strange all day and some hours later have a carb craving....

          Where can you post your menu, i remember there use to be a Menu thread...?
