Re: Overeating All Day
If you're not hungry you ought not eat, ideally. Even when following Atkins, you take cues from your body. Still, proteins are self-limiting, so what you might consider as overeating may simple be you eating an extra egg at breakfast. I would recommend trying to eat only when hungry and stopping when satisfied (but not full). Another way to gauge your inatke is through a free website known as fitday.com.

Re: Overeating All Day
If you are eating beyond hunger, I'd look at your carb intake. Are you hungry, or eating because of emotional reasons, such as boredom or depression or from compulsion? Usually, by day 4 we find that when a strict induction has been followed the blood sugar stabilizes and hunger decreases by quite a bit. Firday checks carbs as well as calories. I'd give it a shot. Make sure you're not eating hidden carbs which sometimes cause false hunger due to blood sugar instability.

Re: Overeating All Day
When starting any diet it can take some time before you get back in tune with your body's signals and learn when to stop eating.
Here's a link to help you learn what www.fitday.com can do for you.
http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5235
This can be a really helpful tool for you and it will show you whether you really are over-eating proteins, so make sure and get to know it well.
If you are following the Rules of Induction and eating properly from the Acceptable Foods list (and not overeating) you will be right about where you need to be.
As Cleo says think hard about why you are eating more than what you should be...because it seems to me you are very aware that you are eating more than you should. Why is this? What's going on? Often, when you get to the root of it, the bad behaviour goes away.
Stay in the moment when you are eating. Stop at one serving and tell yourself that there will still be food in the fridge later on if you are hungry, so there's no need to stuff yourself silly at one sitting. I had to learn that for myself and more often than not, I never have to go back to the fridge later on.
Hopefully your book will get there soon and in the meantime learn how fitday works and get looking at your numbers...they can help you know where you stand.

Re: Overeating All Day
did you know the human body comverts excess protein ti sugar to be stored as fat? you are spiking your blood sugar eatting more proteins have a high fat food if you are hungry and if you aren't drink some water and do something else
overeating any plan will result in weight gain not loss. Atkins isn't a magical program that vaporzes calories. It is a controlled calorie plan by controlling carbohydrates which causes appetite suppression and allows us to only eat enough proteins and fats to satisfy our hunger thus expending more calories then we consume and losing weight.by the book atkinseer

Re: Overeating All Day
As I said, put your foods into fitday and see what your percentages say.
Then you can tweak your menu accordingly so that you are in the correct range. Learn where your weaknesses are so you can make changes for the better.
You sound like you recognize you didn't do it correctly today so look at this as a learning experience and see tomorrow as an opportunity to do better.

Re: Overeating All Day
Ditto to what 2Big said. About 58% of the protein we eat is converted to sugar, which our bodies use. However, eating excessive protein means that excessive sugar is produced which will be stored as fat or glycogen.
