  • Withdrawl symptoms?

I'm still without my books which should arrive any day so I'm not sure if there are withdrawl symptoms that come along with Atkins. Has anyone else noticed anything after starting?

Today is my 5th day and I started to notice feeling a little different. I'm not sure if it's my hormone meds which I have not had any problem with or if it might be some sort of change from the eating habits, maybe withdrawls from carbs or sugars? I'm getting slight cold sweats.

I have an appointment with my Doctor to keep close tabs on me while on Atkins.
I have no known sugar problems and have my blood checked twice a year.
My Cholesterol levels before starting are: Overall 160/LDL 107/HDL 33/Trigl. 99 and my Hemoglobin is at 8.8 up from 7.6 after my hysterectomy in August, but hope that all this meat will help raise the iron levels.
I have trouble taking Vitamins or Iron due to IBS but am planning on trying to add them once again.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi and welcome.

Dr. Atkins talks about carb withdrawals during Induction. Symptoms like fatigue, headaches, etc.

It depends on the person how long they last. You might want to re-evaluate your veggies at this time, to make sure you eat the "other veggie" list veggies. That one cup of slightly higher carb vegetables might help with the symptoms. Too many people limit themselves to lettuce during Induction because they think closer they can get their carbs to 0 the better.

As for multivitamins and iron, Dr. Atkins didn't recommend iron, but since you have IBS, you should discuss that with your physician.

BTW, the Atkins slang term for the withdrawals is "Induction Flu"
