Re: question about beverages.
I am in the Uk and have absolutely no idea what is in coolade.
Could you post here the ingredients that are used as an artificial sweetener? It depends on which sweeteners are used as to wether it is legal or not.
Personally, however I would always recomend that you only drink water on induction. Thats what I did.
HTH and I look forward to seeing your reply.

Re: question about beverages.
SF Koolaid is made with aspartame, which Dr. A says 25% of the people in his care caused stalls. For this reason, we are cautious in recommending anything with it. You could certainly be one it does not affect, but for me personally, it wasnt worth the risk. Another option would be unsweetened KoolAid, and instead of sugar use Splenda instead. You of course would need count any of the sweetener against your daily limit of three, and not against your water intake in the day.Kent - 35-M-6'4"

Re: question about beverages.
If you follow Induction correctly, then given a few days/week you won't be craving the sugary sodas!
But yes, water is best for induction. I personally, have experienced no stalls from drinking diet drinks, but some people do. And if you had a choice, would you rather lose the weight that week, or have one bottle of kool-aid?

I am also clueless about Kool Aide. We don't have that downunder.Originally posted by RichtI am in the Uk and have absolutely no idea what is in coolade.
But if it contains aspartame that I would not recommed anyone consume it at anytime.
I gave up all aspartame 4 days ago (because it gave me headaches & diarrhea) and I've noticed a clarity in my thoughts and possibly some Weight Loss!

Re: question about beverages.
Koolaid is a powdered drink mix made of artificial colors, flavors and sweetener ..sugar or as Kent said Aspartame...it leaves you with a flourescent moustache colored tongue and teeth if mixed right... most American kids were raised on it.... that is why IMHO we have so many problems in this country ....instead of breastfeeding babies I have actually seen this in infant bottles ...amazing to me .....
I am sure you guys have something similar?
water really is the best choice

In time you will be ok with water. I used to hate the stuff but now almost find myself craving it!Originally posted by Dark Drakebut water make me wanna throw up i hate the staleness and no flavor of it
If it helps, make it ice cold. Much more refreshing that way.sigpic260/215/180 Male - 36 y/o

Re: question about beverages.
Some people swear by adding a slice of cucumber or a few drops of oil of oregano ot their water.
Try it at different temperatures too - I prefer mine cold but some people can only drink room temperature water - or even boil it and drink it hot!!Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I used to hate water, but now prefer it over any other beverage. Like the others said, just give it some time. Soda and drinks like crystal light and kool-aid just don't quench my thirst anymore. But I can only drink it icy cold.

Re: question about beverages.
My DH always laughs at me when we visit a cafe and I order lemon or herb tea to drink. Not because of what I am drinking but because he knows that the minute we get back into the car I will take a good long swig from my water bottle!!Originally posted by allierw26Soda and drinks like crystal light and kool-aid just don't quench my thirst anymore.

Re: question about beverages.
Dark Dake, try letting hte water stand, uncovered, for at least 20 mins. This allows the chlorine used in water treatment plants to evaporate, and takes away that awful stink and some of the staleness you complain of. I have a one litre bottle (4 glasses worth) which I fill up every night (and put in the fridge in summer) so it is ready for the morning. You could add a squeeze of fruit juice, just an ounce or so, to give it a little flavour, but plain is best.Odille
